[For Men] Karaoke Challenge Songs: A Collection of Tracks That Are Cool If You Can Sing Them! (21–30)

CENTER OF UNIVERSEMr.Children

Mr.Children DOME & STADIUM TOUR 2017 Thanksgiving 25 (Part 1)
CENTER OF UNIVERSEMr.Children

CENTER OF UNIVERSE is a slow-tempo rock track that’s very popular among fans.

Its vocal range is wide, from mid1C to hiA, with a notably low lower register.

The chorus sits at the lowest part, but since the song itself feels bright, you need to project well even in the low range.

The rapid-fire section at the end of the chorus demands endurance in the throat, so be careful not to over-open your throat in the low notes and strain yourself.

While many Mr.

Children songs are known for their high melodies, this one is challenging for its low notes, so if you have a deeper voice, definitely give it a try.

This is Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s eighth digital-only single, released in June 2023.

It was selected as the campaign song for that year’s Coca-Cola Coke STUDIO.

I felt it’s a wonderful track where the refreshingly arranged sound and Motoki Omori’s clear vocals match perfectly.

To sing this song well, I think it’s important to skillfully switch among his diverse high tones and to command a rich chest voice in the lower parts.

It’s a track I’d love confident male singers to take on as a challenge!

BetelgeuseYuri

Yuri Betelgeuse

Yuri’s “Betelgeuse” is a song that many of my students, regardless of gender, practiced a lot.

The more I taught it, the more I thought, “This song is tough,” so it’s perfect for those confident in their vocal ability! The overall range is D3–D5, with sustained high notes.

The hardest parts are, as expected, the chorus and the C section.

Once you start singing, there’s no break, you can’t find spots to breathe, and many struggle to switch to falsetto like Yuri does.

Since most of Yuri’s songs have almost no rests once they begin, it’s crucial to balance how much volume you use—at what “percentage” you’re singing.

For breath placement, if you sing everything legato and hold notes too long, you’ll definitely lose your breathing spots.

Try cutting the word endings to create small gaps.

If you want to switch into falsetto, relax and let the sound float upward lightly; it will naturally shift into falsetto—give it a try!

Hundreds of millions of light-years Omoinotake

Omoinotake is a popular band with a musical style similar to Official HIGE DANDism, enjoying nationwide popularity.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is Ikoku Kōnen (Light-Years).

It’s a well-known track across Japan, so most people have probably heard it at least once.

The challenging aspect of this song is definitely the high notes.

We’re not talking slightly high—they feature extremely high falsetto.

Unless you’re very confident in your head voice, it will be difficult to sing it well.

Walking with youNovelbright

Walking with youNovelbright

It’s a pretty challenging song that jumps straight into the chorus without any kind of intro right from the start.

It’s uptempo and very band-like, so it looks cool if you can pull it off! The overall vocal range is G3–E5, and the melody has a lot of sharp ups and downs.

The vibe of the A and B sections in verse 1 and verse 2 changes a bit, too.

There’s just a lot to memorize, honestly (lol).

Even if you breeze through the first verse, a lot of people might stumble on the second.

My students actually started by memorizing the English lyrics at the beginning of verse 2.

Also, when there are sections with lots of words, try keeping time with your hands while you sing.

There’s almost no chance to rest in this song, so it’s pretty tough, but if you tackle it melody by melody, you’ll definitely be able to sing it.

Moechakka FireIssei

Moechakka Fire Ichi Makoto

The song Moechakka Fire is currently a nationwide hit.

It’s one of Issei’s signature tracks, distinguished by its incredibly deep vocals.

The low register dominates most of the piece, reaching pitches that the average male likely can’t produce at all.

While elements like long sustained notes and vibrato are minimal, the work’s simply limited vocal range means only a very small number of people will be able to sing it.

If you’re confident in the depth and richness of your voice, definitely give it a try.

Six Trillion Years and an Overnight Storykemu

[HD] Six Trillion Years and One Night Story [IA Original Song / with PV] - KEMU VOXX
Six Trillion Years and One Night Story kemu

Released in December 2012, this is a quintessentially difficult Vocaloid track! It has a Japanese-style flavor: the intro is very relaxed, but the tempo suddenly speeds up and there are a lot of lyrics.

You’ll need to pay attention to stamina, lung capacity, and quickness, but it’s highly recommended if you like fast songs! A tip for tackling the rapid-fire sections is not to try to articulate every single syllable; instead, clearly pronounce the vowel sounds that serve as accents.

That makes it easier to lock into the rhythm and sing more lightly.

With fast-tempo songs, above all, you need to memorize the lyrics—otherwise, when you sing at karaoke, you’ll end up just chasing the words and sounding a bit unfocused.

I recommend first practicing the melody by humming until you can sing it smoothly, and then adding the lyrics.
