Cosmic GirlJamiroquai

Jamiroquai is a band known for their stylish sound, and Cosmic Girl is one of their hit songs.
I’ll say this up front: honestly, it’s hard to sing this song well without a good sense of rhythm.
It doesn’t demand a lot of vocal technique, so if you’re confident in your groove, definitely give it a try.
The English is fairly challenging, so I recommend memorizing the lyrics in advance.
blueyung kai

Young Kai is an Asian singer-songwriter who’s gaining worldwide popularity, especially on TikTok and Instagram.
Known for his airy vocals and musical style, his song “blue” became a massive hit among young people in 2024.
While this track might seem challenging due to the frequent use of falsetto, it doesn’t feature advanced techniques often found in Western music, such as ad-libs or shouts.
Since Young Kai’s vocal quality is similar to typical Japanese vocal production, it’s a very singable song for us.
In My FeelingsDrake

Since the late 2010s, hip-hop has become hugely popular overseas, so if you’re going to sing the latest Western music at karaoke, you can’t skip hip-hop.
Drake is one of the most popular rappers abroad, so I bet many people know him.
It’s very hard for Japanese speakers to rap in English, but In My Feelings is fairly laid-back, so I think it’s relatively easy to sing.
Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee(TEE Japanese Cover Ver.)Luis Fonsi

“Despacito,” the collaboration between Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, became a global sensation and was the most-streamed song at the time of its 2017 release, with over 4.
6 billion streams.
This is a Japanese-language cover of “Despacito” by Japanese singer-songwriter TEE.
Since it’s in Japanese, I think it’s easier to sing at karaoke.
November RainGuns N’ Roses

This is a song included on Guns N’ Roses’ 1991 album Use Your Illusion I.
It exemplifies the band’s musical style, a ballad that uses strings and piano in contrast to the band’s intensity.
Axl sings while playing the piano.
The guitar phrases by Slash near the end have a tear-jerking melody.
Ikaw Lang TalagaYeng Constantino

This song, created and sung by Yeng Constantino from the Philippines, is a classic of Filipino pop released in 2014.
Although it’s considered foreign music, it isn’t in English, so it can be challenging.
It’s a good idea to listen carefully and try writing what you hear in katakana as a way to practice.
WonderwallOasis

This song is probably the signature track of Oasis, a band that’s hugely popular in Japan as well.
Because it’s so well-known, it gets everyone excited at karaoke—even people who don’t usually listen to Western music.
The tempo is relaxed and the lyrics are easy to understand, so I think it’s easy to sing.
