Classic songs sung by GUMI. Recommended popular Vocaloid tracks.
From here on, I’m going to introduce a bunch of wonderful songs performed by the popular VOCALOID, GUMI.
GUMI was developed based on the voice of Megumi Nakajima, who works as a voice actress and singer, and is characterized by her human-like vocal quality.
You might have the impression that she’s mainly used for rock-style tracks, but of course that’s not all.
They’re all masterpieces where various Vocaloid producers let their musical sensibilities explode.
There are so many that it’s hard to introduce them all.

Pedal HeartGUMI

A song that makes you realize GUMI isn’t just about rock! It’s cute yet brisk, with a refreshing, fast-paced melody.
It doesn’t lean too far into “cute,” nor is it strictly rock—it’s a track that lets you discover a new, appealing side of GUMI.
NatsukoGUMI
“Natsuko,” a song by the Sapporo indie rock band Gumi, is a summer track released two years ago.
Although the band itself isn’t very well-known, this song precisely captures the fleeting nature of summer; just by listening, you instantly long for the season, and it’s a track that can move you to tears.
Heartbreak repeaterGUMI

It’s a heartbreak song, but it’s up-tempo and I think it really lifts you up.
I especially want people to listen to it when they want to shake off the sadness after a breakup.
The vocals are wonderful, too.
It’s a song I recommend to anyone who wants to feel energized.
Justice crusherGUMI

Wouldn’t it be interesting to cover a Vocaloid song with a band? The unison riff between the guitar and bass in the intro seems tough, but the finger movements are like basic exercises, so just memorize the shapes.
The rest is basically power chords and root notes.
For the music box section, a guitar arpeggio can create a similar atmosphere.
self-harm by cutting (wrist-cutting)GUMI

A Vocaloid song about wrist-cutting as a way of expressing stress caused by mental illnesses such as depression.
Set to a punk rock track, its lyrics carefully depict the feelings that lead to wrist-cutting, drawing attention from young people who are actually engaging in self-harm.
contrarianGUMI

It’s a cool, lively rock song featuring GUMI’s vocals.
The arrangement is excellent and fits the song’s world perfectly.
I think it’s a wonderful track that captures a wistful, melancholic feeling.
It’s a great song and a timeless classic that makes me want to listen to it over and over without getting tired of it.
blue birdToku-P

This is an exceptional song where GUMI’s translucent singing voice, sparkling melody, and refreshing lyrics are perfectly matched.
You can feel your heart being soothed as you listen.
Released in 2009, it was toku-P’s first work featuring GUMI.
