Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high school students to sing
Compared to today’s songs, older tracks didn’t pack in as many words.
Because of that, many of them were, on the surface, easier to sing than modern songs.
That doesn’t mean today’s songs are necessarily harder, though.
Since recent songs tend to cram in more words, it’s actually easier to disguise flaws, so depending on the track, some can be quite easy for anyone to sing well.
This time, I’ve picked out songs from that category that I especially recommend for high school students.
We’ll be featuring the latest tracks, so be sure to check it out to the end!

Shout out lovestorm

This is the 47th single by the male idol group Arashi, released in September 2015.
This article introduces recommended songs for people who aren’t confident in singing, and this track’s chorus is very catchy, easy to remember, and easy to sing.
However, the opening A-melody section might be a bit tricky.
If you’re going to sing it at karaoke, it’s probably best to study just the A-melody part well in advance.
As long as you clear that part, the rest is simple, so enjoy singing it with a few friends as if you’re doing a group chorus.
It might not quite capture the right vibe if you sing it solo.
LONGINESS REMIXSugLawd Familiar, CHICO CARLITO, Awich

The classic track “LONGINESS REMIX,” which went viral on TikTok and Instagram, features rapper Awich at the center alongside various skilled rappers.
If you’re a high school student, chances are you’ve heard it at least once.
There’s no doubt it’s a cool song, but surprisingly, the required rapping skill isn’t that high.
There are verses close to fastest-rap style, but if you have some cypher experience, the lines are manageable for anyone to perform.
THANXWANIMA

A heartwarming masterpiece by WANIMA, a band that has become a national favorite—performing at the Kouhaku Uta Gassen and in high demand at festivals across the country.
This song has been a cherished part of their live shows since before WANIMA’s big breakthrough.
Its perfectly balanced blend of straightforward, slightly bittersweet lyrics and an irresistibly bright melody makes it a classic.
It’s the perfect song to sing at karaoke when you want to say thank you to a friend.
Kaiju no Hanabuta (Monster's Flower Song)Vaundy

This is a song that reminds you of the innocent dreams of childhood.
The story, depicted through Vaundy’s unique worldview, resonates deeply alongside its energetic sound.
The protagonist’s attempt to reclaim a fading passion through the song of someone dear is striking, and it gives courage to those who listen.
Included on the May 2020 album “strobo,” the track was also featured in a Maruha Nichiro commercial, and after its performance at the 2022 Kouhaku Uta Gassen, it became beloved by many.
In 2023, it topped the annual karaoke rankings, and with its upbeat, live-ready feel, it’s the perfect song for anyone looking to get pumped up together at school events or class performances.
Dinner Songtuki.

Woven into song with the ache of bittersweet love, tuki.
’s music resonates across genders and generations.
This work carefully portrays the inner conflicts born from repeated partings and renewals with a loved one, gently expressing affection and gratitude toward the other person.

The stirring vocals and melody are perfect for karaoke; performing it at school festivals or gatherings with friends—any moment when you want to share feelings—will surely strike a deep chord with listeners.
Its warm atmosphere and clear, transparent vocal quality will gently envelop the room.
You don’t listen to rock.Aimyon

While it’s a love song about aching, bittersweet feelings, it’s also sprinkled with playful touches that are sure to bring a smile—one of Aimyon’s signature tracks.
The protagonist’s desire to close the distance with someone through their favorite music is expressed with skillful metaphors, such as comparing it to a racing heartbeat.
Released as a single in August 2017, the song is also included on the album “Seishun no Excitement.” In 2021, the B-side track “Seishun to Seishun to Seishun” was featured in a Kirin Beer “Tanrei Green Label” commercial, where its acoustic version drew attention.
It’s a perfect song for those who want to convey their feelings through music or who are nurturing a growing crush.
As a love song that resonates with students as well, it’s definitely worth a try.
