Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high school students to sing
Compared to today’s songs, older tracks didn’t pack in as many words.
Because of that, many of them were, on the surface, easier to sing than modern songs.
That doesn’t mean today’s songs are necessarily harder, though.
Since recent songs tend to cram in more words, it’s actually easier to disguise flaws, so depending on the track, some can be quite easy for anyone to sing well.
This time, I’ve picked out songs from that category that I especially recommend for high school students.
We’ll be featuring the latest tracks, so be sure to check it out to the end!

Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high schoolers to sing (1–10)
Someone like you.Lilia.

Riria is a female singer-songwriter whose lyrics resonate with younger listeners and have won her widespread popularity.
In particular, many high school girls may count themselves as fans of her songs.
Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is Anta Nante (“Someone Like You”).
It portrays the fleeting feelings of a woman who still has lingering regrets about a former lover.
While the piece is rich in emotional nuance and expression is important, the overall vocal line remains simple.
As long as you pay attention to dynamics, it will sound polished—so be sure to give it a listen.
Blue Springback number

This is the seventh single by the Japanese rock band back number, released in November 2012.
I chose this song because it has a light, medium-tempo feel that seems easy to sing.
But listening again, the vocalist, Shimizu, has quite impressive singing ability.
He doesn’t have a superhuman range or a voice and projection that overwhelms listeners with a single note.
However, his handling of the fairly wide interval leaps in the chorus is noteworthy.
For those who aren’t confident singers, lowering the key might be essential to sing this at karaoke.
Before singing, it’s best to listen carefully to the original, study the breathing points and set an appropriate key.
If possible, memorizing the lyrics beforehand may also make it easier to sing.
SunYorushika

Yorushika is a music duo that enjoys overwhelming support for their ennui-tinged musical style.
I think many high school students, too, are big fans of their songs.
Among Yorushika’s works, the one I especially want to recommend is their new track, Taiyo (Sun).
Even within Yorushika’s catalog, it’s a song arranged within a particularly narrow vocal range, making for a very singable vocal line throughout.
Since it leans slightly toward the lower register, those with lower voices should definitely give it a try.

UntitledtripleS

tripleS is a Korean girl group notable for its remarkably large lineup of 24 members.
Their music is charming yet stylish, and they’re gaining popularity not only in Korea but also in Japan.
Among their songs, I especially recommend their new track, “Untitled.” While it has a cool vibe, the vocal range is surprisingly narrow and there are no long sustained notes, making it unexpectedly easy to sing.
Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
pedestrian overpassNogizaka46

Among the Sakamichi Series groups, Nogizaka46 is especially popular for their classic, mainstream style.
Although they already have a fairly established career, their popularity remains strong, and I think many high school students still enjoy their songs.
The track I’d like to recommend is Hodōkyō (Pedestrian Bridge).
It features a catchy musical style, and accordingly, the vocal lines are kept simple and straightforward without quirks.
Since it doesn’t require falsetto or vibrato, even those who aren’t confident in their vocal timbre should be able to sing it without any problems.
I can't learn to like myself.Sakurazaka46

Keyakizaka46, a Sakurazaka-series group known for their stylish musicality, continues to be especially popular among younger audiences and consistently ranks high on the charts.
Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend is “I Can’t Learn to Love Myself.” It features a catchy, easy-to-sing vocal line and doesn’t require a wide vocal range.
If you control your pitch well, you can aim for a high score, so be sure to add it to your repertoire.
Love SongGReeeeN

This is a song released by GReeeeN in 2007 that is still loved by many people.
It was GReeeeN’s first love song and was featured in numerous commercials and TV programs.
Its heartrending melody is unforgettable after just one listen, and since there’s no rap part, it’s an easy song to sing.
