Aim for a high score! A collection of easy-to-sing karaoke songs recommended for high school students

When karaoke has a scoring feature, you can’t help wanting to go for a high score, right?

I’m sure many of you enjoy competing for high scores with your friends.

This time, for high school students who love karaoke, I’ve selected some songs that seem relatively easy to sing and good for aiming at high scores.

The key to getting a high score at karaoke is, above all else, to memorize the melody and rhythm (note values) accurately!

If you want to aim for a high score, listen closely to the guide melody, memorize it, and then try singing.

If you’re thinking, “There’s no way I can memorize all that,” one trick might be to turn up the guide melody volume so it’s easier to hear while you sing.

Some of the individual song introduction articles also include advice specifically for getting high scores, so be sure to use this article as a reference and get a leg up on your friends!

Aim for a high score! Recommended karaoke songs for high school students — Easy-to-sing picks (71–80)

An angel passes byBlueberry soda

This is the major debut single of the idol group Blueberry Soda, released in December 2022.

It’s crafted as a gently melancholic song with a slightly relaxed tempo that leaves a strong impression.

The vocal melody itself is easy to hum and remember, making it a perfect choice when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke! Although it’s very easy to sing, if your pronunciation of the lyrics becomes rough, it can ruin the carefully built atmosphere of the song—so please pay attention to that when you sing.

The Zero Sense10-FEET

10-FEET – The Zero Sense (Ending Theme Song of the Film 'THE FIRST SLAM DUNK')
The 0th Sense 10-FEET

This track is from 10-FEET’s ninth original album, Collins, which was released in December 2022.

The title track, The First Take, was created as the ending theme for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK and was produced in close collaboration between the band and SLAM DUNK’s original creator, Takehiko Inoue.

Reportedly at Inoue’s request, the lyrics were written without referencing specific details of the film’s content.

Musically, it’s a very upbeat, high-energy rock song with a catchy groove.

The vocal melody doesn’t include particularly tricky passages or extreme highs or lows, making it an ideal choice when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.

Be sure to really feel the accents on beats 2 and 4 (where the snare lands) so your rhythm doesn’t drag while you sing.

FlowerORANGE RANGE

This song is one of the most popular ballads among ORANGE RANGE’s tracks.

Although it was released in 2004, it’s not only one of their signature songs but also a frequent pick at karaoke, so I think even today’s high schoolers who know ORANGE RANGE or go to karaoke often are familiar with it.

The song isn’t exactly easy—it includes a rap section and has very low notes.

However, its relaxed tempo and soaring chorus melody make it easier to aim for a high score.

In particular, during the chorus, skillfully incorporating scoops and vibrato to earn bonus points is the key to getting a top score!

Laughter Official Hige Dandism

A piano-pop band Official HIGE DANDism’s song released in July 2020.

The vocalist Satoshi Fujihara has remarkable singing ability; his clear, soaring high notes are especially noteworthy.

Because of that, there may not be many people who can sing it in the original key, so be careful with the key settings when you sing it at karaoke.

The melody itself is very catchy and easy to remember, so as long as you don’t make a mistake with the key, aiming for a high score at karaoke should be realistic.

Give it a try and good luck!

Song of FlowersAimer

Aimer “Hana no Uta” (Starring: Minami Hamabe / Theme song for the theatrical film Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] I. presage flower)
Song of Flowers Aimer

Aimer’s 13th single, released in October 2017.

I bet many of you thought, “Huh? Is this a song you can actually score high on?” It’s true that because of Aimer’s distinctive singing style, a lot of people might think at first listen, “This sounds hard!!” But if you don’t get distracted by that and really listen to the original, you’ll notice the vocal range used isn’t actually that wide.

So if you memorize the melody well and can trace it accurately, getting a high score shouldn’t be that difficult.

That said, there’s a risk the song could end up sounding dull if that’s all you focus on.

In that sense, it may be a good example of how a so-called “textbook” high score doesn’t necessarily make it a “good performance.” After you try singing it once and manage a high score, I think it’s great to enjoy it in your own style and interpretation!

On nights when cherry blossoms fallAimyon

Aimyon – On the Night the Cherry Blossoms Fall [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
On nights when cherry blossoms fall, Aimyon

While inheriting the sound that could be called the golden age of Heisei-era J-POP, Aimyon continues to release songs with a timeless, universal appeal.

“Sakura ga Furu Yoru wa” was released in 2021 as the theme song for “Koi to Ookami ni wa Damasarenai,” and it’s a masterpiece brimming with Aimyon’s signature style—comforting yet somehow bittersweet, with melodies and lyrics that resonate deeply.

Overall, although the pitch sits relatively high, the range is narrow and the melodic leaps are modest, so those with lower voices should be able to sing it well by adjusting the key.

For the chorus’s falsetto lines, try to project from your diaphragm to avoid your voice breaking.

Omnidirectional Bishoujo No Murasaki

Many people would first name Noshi as a breakout, up-and-coming singer-songwriter of 2024.

Born in 2000, she’s a multi-talented artist who not only writes and composes her own songs but also handles artwork herself, making her hugely popular with Gen Z.

The song that propelled her to fame is Zengōkō Bishōjo (“All-Directional Beautiful Girl”), a 2024 hit that exploded primarily on TikTok and became one of the year’s defining tracks.

It’s not the kind of song that gets flashy and hyped up, but its unforgettable melody, along with her voice that blends a languid mood, sultriness, and cuteness, is truly innate.

When singing it at karaoke, avoid sounding too flat; pay attention to the slightly rapid phrases and aim for smooth delivery—you might even rack up a high score!
