Aim for a high score! A collection of easy-to-sing karaoke songs recommended for high school students
When karaoke has a scoring feature, you can’t help wanting to go for a high score, right?
I’m sure many of you enjoy competing for high scores with your friends.
This time, for high school students who love karaoke, I’ve selected some songs that seem relatively easy to sing and good for aiming at high scores.
The key to getting a high score at karaoke is, above all else, to memorize the melody and rhythm (note values) accurately!
If you want to aim for a high score, listen closely to the guide melody, memorize it, and then try singing.
If you’re thinking, “There’s no way I can memorize all that,” one trick might be to turn up the guide melody volume so it’s easier to hear while you sing.
Some of the individual song introduction articles also include advice specifically for getting high scores, so be sure to use this article as a reference and get a leg up on your friends!

Aim for a High Score! Karaoke Songs That Are Easy for High School Students to Sing (31–40)
death anniversaryCHANMINA

This is Chanmina’s 17th digital-only single, released in August 2023.
It was selected as the theme song for the TV Asahi Thursday drama “Hayabusa Shobodan.” The vocal melody doesn’t span a very wide range, so I think it should be quite easy for many people to sing.
To score high when singing it at karaoke, the key is how well you can reproduce her slightly sticky, laid-back sense of timing.
Including the rap part at the end of the song, pay close attention to rhythm and groove as you sing!
himawariMr.Children

Mr.
Children’s 37th single, released in July 2017.
Many of you probably know it as the theme song for the film “Let Me Eat Your Pancreas.” Sakurai’s passionate vocals are alive and well in this track too! The key to singing this song at karaoke? Don’t try to sing it “perfectly”! Of course, if you want a high score, you need to learn the melody and rhythm faithfully to the original—but no worries there! True to Sakurai, who has written and composed countless Mr.
Children hits, this song also delivers an impeccably crafted, memorable melody that’s easy to pick up.
So you shouldn’t stumble on that part.
What matters is how much of the original’s “heat” you can reproduce! Aim not only for a high score with a performance as fiery as the man himself, but also to move everyone in the room.
No tricks needed for this song!
vip?Natsuko Nisshoku

Nisshoku Natsuko is a female singer-songwriter who’s steadily gaining popularity.
She excels at a distinctly ennui-driven style and consistently captivates listeners with an emotive, atmospheric world.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is “vip?”.
It features an acoustic-tinged melody and a laid-back vocal delivery, with a generally accessible range of mid1 D# to high C, and a vocal line that remains relatively even throughout.
Consider adding it to your repertoire.
illustrated reference bookSEKAI NO OWARI

SEKAI NO OWARI often gives the impression of having many high-pitched songs, but the July 2025 release “Zukan” doesn’t feature belted high notes and has little range fluctuation, so it seems very scoring-friendly—you might even aim for a perfect 100.
The melody is also easy to remember since it’s structured with just verse A, verse B, and the chorus, without a new section like a bridge.
Overall, the vocal range, rhythm, and melody are clearly organized, so you don’t need any special techniques and can sing it at a relaxed pace.
To aim for 100 points, the first priority is matching pitch.
Try singing lightly with the image of lifting your facial muscles and eyebrows and sending the voice forward from just above the eyebrows.
Vocalist Fukase also tends to keep his eyebrows raised, so use that as a reference!
pure whiteFujii Kaze

Singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze, whose vocals are at once ennui-tinged and subtly sexy, leaves a strong impression.
Though he comes from an R&B background and has many technically challenging songs, “Masshiro” is different.
This piece has a soft, dream-pop-like feel, and the vocal lines are gently contoured.
In fact, the range is on the narrower side—mid1 C to mid2 G—so you shouldn’t have trouble with vocal production.
It’s also an easy song to harmonize, so try singing it with a friend.

I love youKana Nishino

This is a song by Kana Nishino, a female singer who enjoys overwhelming support from many young women thanks to her down-to-earth lyrics, and it was created to mark the 10th anniversary of her debut.
Its relatable, characteristically “her” lyrics are very appealing.
With a fast-paced melody that makes it easy to keep pitch, and without flashy high notes or tricky rhythms, it’s a very singable, confidence-boosting track for karaoke.
sasanqua (Camellia sasanqua)SEKAI NO OWARI

This is a heartwarming song with a gentle, memorable melody released in 2018 by SEKAI NO OWARI, a four-member Japanese rock band.
They’re hugely popular among middle and high school students as well, and while their music spans a variety of styles, this track features a warm, laid-back rhythm.
There aren’t many high notes or tricky vocal runs, yet it’s still a song that truly resonates, so it should be quite easy to sing at karaoke.
