Karaoke songs that are easy for middle school students to score high on
The number-one concern middle schoolers have in music is voice change.
While girls might not feel it as much, it’s a period when the vocal cords change significantly for both boys and girls, making it arguably the most difficult time to sing in your entire life.
For middle schoolers going through this, just controlling pitch can be challenging.
On top of that, recent Japanese pop songs often feature many high notes and few rests, which makes it even harder to aim for high scores.
So this time, we’ve selected songs that even middle school students with unstable voices can use to aim for high scores.
We also carefully considered how well the songs will be received, so be sure to check them out to the end.

Karaoke Songs That Make It Easy for Middle Schoolers to Score High (61–70)
I love youuu!Nadeshiko on a high peak

Takane no Nadeshiko is a 10-member idol group produced by HoneyWorks.
The song they sing here is just the right fit for junior high schoolers—very relatable.
With its catchy tempo and easy-to-remember lyrics, it’s also a great karaoke pick that makes it easy to score high while everyone has fun.
It’s nice for singing while dancing, too, since the rhythm is easy to keep.
Try giving it a go without worrying about the score—and you might end up getting a high one anyway.
Dried flowersYuri

This is “Dry Flower” by the male singer Yuuri, released in 2020.
It became a massive hit on various music charts and gained popularity especially among young people.
It’s amazing that the streaming play count has surpassed hundreds of millions, isn’t it? When you listen to the song, its popularity makes sense.
Comparing heartbreak to a dried flower is bittersweet yet somehow romantic.
That atmosphere may be what captivated listeners.
In this song, as soon as the chorus begins, a flurry of high notes comes in all at once.
Let’s make sure we can keep up with the song’s climax.
Me too,YUTORI-SEDAI

The trio YUTORI-SEDAI, hailing from West Tokyo, has enjoyed immense popularity among younger generations through social media since their indie days, and finally made their long-awaited major debut in April 2025.
Their track “Watashi datte,” included on their major debut EP “blanket,” was pre-released in March of the same year and chosen as the theme song for the drama “Toshishita Doutei-kun ni Honrou Saretemasu,” making it a notable release.
It’s a signature love ballad from the band, featuring poignant guitar arpeggios, strings, and piano tones.
The melody line is very straightforward, and as long as you can handle the falsetto in the chorus, you should be able to sing it without issue.
Be mindful of the gradually building melodic progression, and aim for a dynamic, well-contrasted vocal delivery.
Future IslandMori Calliope

Sung by the popular VTuber Mori Calliope, this track drew major attention as it was released as the theme song for the manga version of ONE PIECE.
Set on the futuristic island of Egghead, the work focuses on the brilliant scientist Vegapunk’s groundbreaking ideas and technological revolution.
The song is distinguished by Mori Calliope’s clear, expansive vocals and its catchy melody.
Released in July 2023, it debuted at a special live performance on Shinjuku’s Yunika Vision.
Because the vocal range isn’t very wide, it’s a perfect pick for middle schoolers to enjoy at karaoke.
If you pay attention to accurate pitch and rhythm, you can aim for a high score.
If I'm wrapped in kindnessYumi Arai

A song released in 1976 as the third single when Yumi Matsutoya was still Yumi Arai.
It’s an old song, but it was also chosen as a theme for the animated film “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” and has been used many times in commercials for various products, so even junior high school students as of 2019 have probably heard it at least once.
It’s truly a timeless classic.
That said, perhaps reflecting the era when it was first released in 1976, the melody is much simpler than modern songs, so it shouldn’t be too hard to score high when singing it at karaoke.
Try singing carefully, tracing the original melody.
Your parents might be delighted if you sing it when you go to karaoke with them!
So, I got sunburned.Mao Sasagawa

Mao Sasagawa is a singer-songwriter recognized by Tatsuya Kitani.
She originally worked as a Vocaloid producer under the name “mao sasagawa” and is known for her strong composition skills.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is “Desukara, Yakemashita” (“Therefore, It Burned”).
While it’s a distinctive track, its vocal range is very narrow and the vocal line is gently contoured, making it an ideal choice if you’re aiming for a high score.
Is that okay?RADWIMPS

Since the song is very catchy and memorable, I don’t think it’s too hard to grasp the melody even when singing it at karaoke.
But if you’re aiming for a high score, the key point—above all—is how well you can handle the rap-like delivery in the A-melody section.
The high-pitched, rap-like part at the start of the second chorus’s A-melody might be a bit tricky too.
Normally, I’d say not to sweat the small details in a section like this and just sing it with your own groove.
However, when you’re going for a top karaoke score, staying faithful to the original is also crucial.
So learn it thoroughly and try to rap it coolly!
