Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register

In recent years, Japan’s music scene has seen an increase in songs with lots of high notes, influenced by K-pop.

As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.

So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.

We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

Karaoke Songs Recommended for Men with Deep Voices and Strong Low Range (71–80)

ComedyGen Hoshino

A digital-only single by singer-songwriter Gen Hoshino, released on April 8, 2022.

It was reportedly written as the ending theme for the TV Tokyo anime SPY×FAMILY.

The song is notable for its slightly murmured vocal style right from the beginning.

That said, if you actually sing in a muttery way, your voice won’t carry to the listener, so make sure to resonate in your chest as you sing.

The trick is to sing as if you’re speaking to someone nearby.

In the chorus and other sections, mixed voice to falsetto is used effectively, so switch your vocal production skillfully to deliver the song well!

NEON TOKYOFUJIBASE

NEON TOKYOFUJIBASE

FUJIBASE is a multi-artist who does everything from track-making to drum performance.

Known for his highly sophisticated musicality, he’s often compared to Vaundy due to their similar style.

Among FUJIBASE’s songs, I especially recommend “NEON TOKYO.” While it features some falsetto parts, most of the chorus sits in the mid-to-low range, which helps highlight the richness of a lower male voice.

Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.

TsubasaUnder Graph

It was released in 2004 as Under Graph’s major-label debut single.

The song gained attention and popularity among cable broadcast and radio listeners, and although it peaked at No.

6 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, it became their best-selling release.

Masami Nagasawa appears in the music video.

fatalGEMN

Fatal / GEMN – Fatal / GEMN
Fatal GEMN

A track that captivates with its heavy, resonant low end and striking melody.

The destined love portrayed by GEMN, the unit formed by Tatsuya Kitani and Kento Nakajima, stirs intense emotions hidden within.

With powerful low tones that convey the light and shadow of humanity, maddening love, and the irony of fate, the soul-shaking vocals bring even greater depth to the piece.

It’s a song that sounds great solo, but is especially cool as a duet—so be sure to let those low notes ring out when you sing it!

JourneyFujii Kaze

Fujii Kaze – Tabiji (Official Video)
Tabiji Fujii Kaze

Fujii Kaze’s “Tabiji” is also a song one of my students practiced, and it’s a great recommendation for low-voiced male singers.

The overall range is B2–G#4, with a structure where the A section sits quite low and the range gradually rises toward the chorus.

If the chorus feels high, try imitating Fujii Kaze’s gentle singing style from the start—using a breathy tone can make it relatively easier to sing.

It’s a straightforward song for practice, so try singing it with the sense of gradually building momentum!

The Zero Sense10-FEET

10-FEET – The Zero Sense (Ending Theme Song of the Film 'THE FIRST SLAM DUNK')
The 0th Sense 10-FEET

This is the 22nd single by the Japanese three-piece rock band 10-FEET, released in November 2022.

It was also selected as the ending theme for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK.

It’s crafted as a very cool mid-to-up-tempo rock number.

You don’t need any complicated explanations to sing a song like this—just ride the groove, sing it out, and get hyped! The vocal melody doesn’t span a very wide range, so even men with lower voices should find it very easy to sing.

In fact, I feel like lower-voiced singers might have the advantage when it comes to conveying this power.

Sing your heart out and have a blast!

hanashiTENDRE

TENDRE – hanashi ( Official Music Video)
hanashiTENDRE

Taro Kawahara’s solo project, TENDRE.

It’s pronounced “tender,” not “tendore.” Its stylish musicality is popular and highly regarded by hardcore music enthusiasts.

Among TENDRE’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is “hanashi.” It’s similar in musical style to Gen Hoshino’s work, blending a wistful J-pop vibe with neo-soul elements.

While it’s not a bass-heavy track, the vocal range is narrow and the groove is strong, so lowering the key can make the low notes really shine.

Tweak the key just enough to avoid overdoing it, and definitely give it a try.
