Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register
In recent years, Japan’s music scene has seen an increase in songs with lots of high notes, influenced by K-pop.
As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.
So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.
We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

STAY -Remix- feat. VIGORMAN, CHEHON & NG HEADJUMBO MAATCH & ILL NINJA GANG

Reggae deejay JUMBO MAATCH, who also gained popularity on shows like Freestyle Dungeon, is known as a legend in the reggae scene and is characterized by his deep, powerful vocals.
A track where you can savor his low voice is “STAY -Remix- feat.
VIGORMAN, CHEHON & NG HEAD.” While many reggae deejays are featured on this track, aside from CHEHON’s part, it prominently showcases the thick, dancehall-style vocals.
That makes it an easy song to perform for men with lower voices and a great one to highlight their appeal.
Unrequited loveSUPER BEAVER

SUPER BEAVER is a four-piece rock band that has been active since the 2000s.
If you like Japanese rock, you’ve surely heard of this renowned band.
Spurred by the release of Kataomoi (Unrequited Love), they once again drew nationwide attention.
This track, which helped spark their resurgence, features an emotional melody that’s essentially orthodox J-pop with a light touch of rock.
It’s sung mostly in the low to mid range, but near the end of the chorus there’s a high note delivered as a chest-voice shout.
Aside from that section, it’s very easy to sing, so if you’re good at shouting, definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
SUNGen Hoshino

A song by Gen Hoshino.
It’s a bright, poppy track and a great pick for group karaoke.
While the tune is cheerful, I like how some of the lyrics carry a heavier tone.
Besides this one, I think “Toki yo” and “Jigoku de Naze Warui” are also easy songs to sing.
Just the two of usRADWIMPS

I think RADWIMPS songs also have a reputation for being high, but for “Futarigoto,” I believe it will come together beautifully if you sing the high notes in falsetto without hesitation.
The A-melody is fast and rap-like, so rather than focusing on pitch, I want you to enjoy riding the rhythm.
Toward the second half, it feels like Noda’s vocal style also ramps up, but first, try finding a key that’s comfortable for you and settling the high notes into falsetto.
I had many male high school students with low voices who sang this often, so don’t give up—give it a try!

GOD_iNumber_i

Number_i is a dance-vocal group supported by women across a wide range of ages.
Their sophisticated dance performances and hip-hop-centered sound are striking.
From their tracks, the one I especially recommend for men with lower voices is GOD_i.
It’s a hip-hop-focused piece, and the hook features very low vocals.
While the rap itself is slightly on the challenging side, the vocal range makes it relatively easy to perform—so consider adding it to your repertoire.
FlowerFujii Kaze

It’s Fujii Kaze’s 14th digital-only single, released in October 2023.
It was reportedly written as the theme song for Fuji TV’s Thursday drama “Ichiban Sukina Hana.” The production gives off a very stylish vibe throughout the track, doesn’t it? The low-register vocals you can hear in parts like the first verse are a great spot for lower-voiced male singers to showcase their appeal.
The chorus and other sections have slightly complex, rapidly changing melodies, so overall the song is a bit challenging to sing—but definitely give it a try.
To keep your tone from getting heavy, try placing the sound lightly against your upper palate inside your mouth; that will help you recreate the kind of light touch in the vocal delivery that the artist has.
Sleeping BeautySEKAI NO OWARI

Released in May 2012 as SEKAI NO OWARI’s third major single.
When it comes to Sekai no Owari’s vocals, the voice has a slightly cute quality, so I did hesitate a bit about recommending this as a song for low-voiced men.
However, the melody doesn’t require extremely high notes, so even guys whose strength is a deep, rich voice might occasionally pick a cute song like this.
With that in mind, I’d like to recommend it.
