Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register

In recent years, Japan’s music scene has seen an increase in songs with lots of high notes, influenced by K-pop.

As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.

So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.

We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

Recommended karaoke songs (1–10) for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register

pure whiteFujii Kaze

Fujii Kaze – “masshiro” (pure white) [Official Audio]
Pure white Fujii Kaze

Fujii Kaze’s song “Masshiro.” When it comes to Fujii Kaze, his stylish, R&B-based sound is what usually stands out, but this work comes together with a different vibe.

It leans strongly acoustic, and the vocal line is arranged to be calm and with little contour, reminiscent of dream pop.

As a result, the range is low, and naturally you won’t find complex rises and falls in pitch—such as ad-libs—appearing.

For a Fujii Kaze track, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say this is among the easiest to sing.

Hazy spring cats are liquid.

A four-piece rock band from Kyoto, Neko wa Ekitai.

Centered around orthodox Japanese rock, their work has been drawing attention in the scene.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend for men with low voices is Harugasumi.

Although the vocalist doesn’t have a particularly low voice—so it’s easy to overlook—this track is composed mostly in the mid-to-low range.

If you adjust the key, it can fully showcase the richness and warmth of a deep male voice.

Consider adding it to your repertoire.

LOOP ~One of the BE:ST-03 RYUHEI~RYUHEI

This song was created as part of BE:FIRST’s solo project and is RYUHEI’s solo track.

The vocal range is around D3–D5, focusing mainly on the lower register.

Overall, the song has a calm feel, so it should be easy to sing for lower-voice male singers who aren’t comfortable with high notes.

The chorus gets a bit higher, but since it’s a stylish track with strong R&B elements, singing gently in falsetto without belting fits the song well.

I think it’s great to have a song like this in your repertoire, so definitely give it a listen!

It's love, right?wacci

wacci 'Koi Daro' Music Video
Koi Daro by wacci

I’ve been posting songs with the theme of “men with low voices,” and many of my students are “men with low voices” too! One of them has been practicing wacci’s “Koidaro.” In this song, the chorus jumps up in range to F#4, but the lowest note is a pretty low B2, which actually appears multiple times throughout.

How about first making sure you can firmly produce those easier low notes, and then try tackling the high notes with some momentum? Of course, it’s totally fine to start with falsetto instead of chest voice! If you keep singing, there will definitely be a point where it clicks, so I think it’s worth giving it a go even if it feels “a bit high.” Just don’t push yourself!

gazeSUPER BEAVER

Gaze by SUPER BEAVER

This song has a very cool, band-like vibe! Especially the way the chorus builds—doesn’t it feel great to sing? I get the impression that SUPER BEAVER doesn’t have many songs in a high range and generally leans lower, and the vocal range for “Manazashi” is C3–A4, so it should be easy for men with lower voices to sing! SUPER BEAVER is very popular, so it seems tough to get concert tickets… They have a lot of cool songs, so adding them to your karaoke repertoire is sure to get everyone hyped!

bergamotSora Tomonari

Tomonari Sora – “Bergamot” [Lyric Video]
Bergamot Tomonari Sora

Singer-songwriter Sora Tomonari, who has enjoyed outstanding popularity since his teens.

His hallmark is a relaxed, unforced vocal style, so I think many low-voiced teenage boys keep his songs in their repertoire.

His new release, “Bergamot,” is a very singable piece centered in the low-to-mid range.

There’s a falsetto part in the chorus, but the phrase is low enough to be sung comfortably in chest voice, so it shouldn’t pose a challenge.

It also goes over well at karaoke, so consider adding it to your repertoire.

SyrupShota Shimizu

Shota Shimizu “Syrup” MV
Syrup Shota Shimizu

Shota Shimizu’s new song “Syrup.” Shimizu is known for his music that prominently incorporates authentic R&B, and while this track retains those elements, it’s shaped into a lighter, more modern R&B style.

He isn’t necessarily a low-voiced artist, but since most of this song sits in the mid-to-low range, it should really showcase the appeal of male singers with lower voices.

It’s also recommended to intentionally lower the key to emphasize the low end even more.
