Even karaoke beginners can relax! Easy-to-sing songs for men

At karaoke with friends, there are probably many men who feel, “I’m actually not good at singing and I get nervous…” right? No one wants to go off pitch or miss the high notes and feel embarrassed.

The truth is, there are plenty of songs that anyone can sing comfortably, as well as classic tracks that get the whole room excited! This time, we’re introducing J-POP karaoke songs that even those who aren’t confident in their singing can perform with peace of mind.

We’ve selected many songs with simple melodies and rhythms that are easy to remember, so please use this as a reference!

Karaoke for Beginners: Easy-to-Sing Songs for Men (41–50)

To tell you the truth,Young Skinny

Young Skinny – Actually, You Know, [Official Music Video]
To tell the truth, Young Skinny.

This is the second single by Young Skinny, a four-piece rock band from Japan, released in October 2022.

I think it’s a charming mid-tempo track with a slightly heartwarming vibe.

The vocal melody doesn’t span a very wide range, so in that sense it feels very easy to sing as well.

If you make sure to feel the accents of the snare drum in the backing track while you sing, that alone can make it sound pretty good—so give it a try! I also recommend having fun by imitating the artist’s slightly distinctive singing style.

White LoversKeisuke Kuwata

Keisuke Kuwata – Shiroi Koibitotachi (Full ver.)
Shiroi Koibito-tachi Kuwata Keisuke

It’s Keisuke Kuwata’s 7th solo single, released in October 2001.

A transparent, heart-shaped vinyl version was also issued.

This applies not only to his solo songs but also when singing Southern All Stars songs: since Kuwata has a very distinctive vocal style, try to sing it without slipping into an impersonation of him.

I think it’s a great song with a simple melody that’s easy to sing and remember.

That said, if you’re performing it in front of a big group of friends, going all-in on an impersonation could be fun, too! There’s a falsetto at the end of the chorus, but the line isn’t very difficult, so it could be good for practicing your falsetto as well.

Promise of SunflowersMotohiro Hata

Motohiro Hata / Promise of a Sunflower (Short Ver.)
Himawari no Yakusoku by Motohiro Hata

This is Motohiro Hata’s 17th single, released in August 2014.

It became the theme song for the animated film “STAND BY ME Doraemon” and was a hit that also had many other tie-ins.

It’s a gentle ballad, and while some people who aren’t confident singers might feel hesitant when it’s recommended to them, the melody is very simple and beautiful, and once you actually try singing it, there aren’t many difficult parts.

So don’t be afraid—give it a try.

If high notes are tough for you, lowering the key by two or three steps should make it manageable for most male singers.

Just be careful with the transition between chest voice and falsetto around the end of the first verse (A-melody).

sakura colorGReeeeN

GReeeeN – Cherry Blossom Color
Sakura color GReeeeN

It’s GReeeeN’s 19th single, released in February 2013.

It was also used as a commercial song for “Suits AOKI.” I think this song has an easy melody and rhythm that even people who aren’t good at singing will find very singable, but for those who struggle with high notes, the chorus melody might be a bit tough.

In that case, I think it still works perfectly well to handle the high notes in the chorus with falsetto, and if that’s still difficult, try adjusting the key.

Especially in the latter half, after the key change, many people might find it hard to sing in the original key.

Tears of MagnoliaStardust Revue

“Tears of Magnolia ~acoustic~” Stardust☆Review [LIVE]
Tears of Magnolia Stardust Revue

This is a single cut from the 1993 album SOLA.

There are other songs about suddenly losing a lover to death, but when I listen to this one, it makes me think of family members I lost years ago—even if they weren’t lovers—and it brings me to tears.

It’s a very good song and an easy one to sing.

MotherKariyushi 58

This is one of the signature songs by Kariyushi58, an Okinawan band, in which they sing about their feelings toward their mother.

There are many words, but the tempo is relaxed, making it easy to sing.

The melody is more like speaking than a song with rising and falling pitches, so it’s easy to remember.

Pure Love SongShonan no Kaze

Shonan no Kaze “Junrenka” MUSIC VIDEO (Original ver.)
Junrenka by Shonan no Kaze

It’s a 2006 hit song with lyrics that express feelings for a lover in a straightforward way.

The relaxed tempo—typical of reggae—makes it easy to sing.

Just like the original, it might be fun to pass the mic around among a few people.
