Karaoke songs that make it easy to score 100 points [for men]

“I want to score a perfect 100 at karaoke!” Many people probably have that kind of dream or desire to take on the challenge, right? I also often hear concerns like, “I just can’t seem to get a high score.” But don’t worry! In fact, simply being strategic about song selection and what to focus on can boost your score! This time, I’ll introduce songs that tend to be easier to score highly on in karaoke.

Many of my students have said their scores went up as they continued vocal training, so please use the song breakdowns as a reference!

Karaoke Songs That Make It Easy to Score 100 Points [For Men] (121–130)

Witch of the RainWhale at Night in the City

Kujira Yoru no Machi “Rain Witch” Music Video [BOOM BOOM BOOM October CM Song]
Rain Witch Whale, Night City

The four-piece rock band Kujira Yoru no Machi.

Their appeal lies in a rock sound influenced by video game music: sharp and tight, yet wrapped in a somewhat fantastical atmosphere.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend as an easy pick for aiming at a perfect 100 is Ame no Majo (“Rain Witch”).

While its development is reminiscent of Vocaloid tracks, there’s little extreme pitch movement, so even at a fast tempo you should be able to control your pitch well.

budKobukuro

This is Kobukuro’s 14th single, released on March 21, 2007.

It was written as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “Tokyo Tower: Mom and Me, and Sometimes Dad.” It’s a very Kobukuro-like acoustic ballad, so you need to sing it carefully even at karaoke.

The vocal melody is very straightforward and easy to remember, so try to sing it with clear pronunciation of each word in the lyrics.

I think the key to getting a perfect score is whether you can sing the opening section, backed by a single acoustic guitar, and the quiet part after the instrumental break with precision.

GandharaGodiego

This is the seventh single by the 1970s band Godiego, released on October 1, 1978.

It was used as the ending theme for the drama “Saiyuki,” starring Masakazu Sakai.

Godiego is a pioneering presence in Japanese progressive rock, but the song’s vocal melody is very straightforward and easy to sing in a 1970s kayōkyoku to New Music style, making it a great choice if you’re aiming for a perfect 100 in karaoke.

The band’s vocalist, Yukihide Takekawa, has a singing style with somewhat distinctive Japanese pronunciation, but if your main goal is to score 100 in karaoke, it’s probably better not to imitate that too closely.

Bon-giri Love Song by Southern All Stars

This song, released in July 2023, is the fourth digital-only single by Southern All Stars.

It’s a classic summer tune from the band, featuring a slightly bouncy, funky beat.

The vocal range used in the melody isn’t very wide, and the melody itself is easy to sing along to casually, making it one of the best choices when you want to aim for a perfect 100 at karaoke.

Just be careful not to let the rhythm of your singing become too flat.

Sharam Q “Single Bed” (Music Video)
Single Bed Sharam Q

This is Sharam Q’s sixth single, released on October 21, 1994.

It has remained a long-selling track since its release and became the band’s first million-selling hit.

Although it’s a ballad with a very simple arrangement, Tsunku, who sings it, is a wonderfully unpretentious vocalist, so even humming it lightly could make it sound quite charming.

Listening through the whole piece, there aren’t many melodies that seem particularly difficult to sing, so rather than trying to sing it perfectly, if you focus on enjoying the act of singing and on understanding and expressing the world of the lyrics, I think scoring a perfect 100 isn’t just a dream with this song.

Skeletonize!Straightener

Straightener is a band that represents Japanese alternative and indie rock.

From their debut to the present, they’ve energized the Japanese rock scene with a consistently unchanged musical style.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend as an easy target for a perfect score is Skeletonize!.

The loud, masculine vocals make a strong impression, which may strike many as somewhat difficult.

However, the vocal line in this track is surprisingly set within a narrow range.

If you adjust the key to suit your voice, there aren’t many long sustained notes either, so you should be able to match the pitch without trouble.

soliloquyHachiware (CV: Makoto Tanaka)

The manga series Chiikawa, which enjoys overwhelming support from women nationwide, has become even more beloved since it was adapted into a TV anime.

Hitorigotsu is a song that was used as the anime’s ending theme.

Because it’s a simple piece consisting only of guitar and vocals, you might worry that it doesn’t allow for any cover-ups if you lack vocal prowess.

However, the song features a very straightforward vocal line and a singing style without vibrato, among other easy elements, making it a perfect choice for aiming for a perfect score.
