Karaoke songs that make it easy to score 100 points [for men]

“I want to score a perfect 100 at karaoke!” Many people probably have that kind of dream or desire to take on the challenge, right? I also often hear concerns like, “I just can’t seem to get a high score.” But don’t worry! In fact, simply being strategic about song selection and what to focus on can boost your score! This time, I’ll introduce songs that tend to be easier to score highly on in karaoke.

Many of my students have said their scores went up as they continued vocal training, so please use the song breakdowns as a reference!

The comedic song “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen,” which became a global hit after Justin Bieber highlighted it, is the iconic track that introduced PIKOTARO to the world.

As you can probably tell just by listening, it’s a piece that makes aiming for a perfect 100 very easy.

It’s almost questionable whether it even counts as a song, haha.

Since it’s a short track where anyone can score 100 as long as they stay on pitch, if you’ve never gotten a perfect score before, give it a try.

Ruby RingAkira Terao

This was Akira Terao’s sixth single, released on February 5, 1981.

I recall that around the time the song came out, I saw or heard Terao in an interview saying that he composed it with the hit songs of Alice in mind.

Now that he mentions it, the song does seem to have a certain catchiness that brings Alice’s music to mind.

When singing it at karaoke, it may be difficult to hit the low notes accurately in the original key, so if you’re not confident with your lower range, try raising the key.

Incidentally, Terao himself reportedly raised the key when performing this song on TV and elsewhere at the time, compared to the original studio version.

A track included on Okazaki Taiiku’s fourth full-length original album, “FIGHT CLUB,” which was released in October 2021.

The song was released digitally in advance of the album.

With its bright, medium-to-up-tempo feel and slightly comical lyrics, it’s a tune that just makes you feel good simply by listening.

Both the vocal melody and the lyrics are very straightforward, with nothing particularly gimmicky, so it might be the perfect choice if you want to aim for a perfect 100 at karaoke.

That said, I think it’s more fun not to worry about the score and just belt it out to your heart’s content!

Aside from his variety show appearances, Sosina of Shimofuri Myojo has also achieved major success on YouTube and as an artist.

His signature song, “Soraburarin,” combines popularity with ease of singing.

The track strongly features punk rock elements and maintains a powerful atmosphere throughout.

However, there aren’t any parts that require belting; it’s sung in the mid to low range from start to finish, making it a song that even those who struggle with high notes can aim to score a perfect 100 on.

whaleMasaki Suda

Masaki Suda, who is thriving both as an actor and as an artist.

In his early days he had a strong pop image, but lately he’s been actively taking on rock-tinged tracks.

Among his songs, the one I especially recommend is Kujira.

There’s one spot in the chorus that uses falsetto, but aside from that there aren’t any particularly difficult parts.

The vocal range isn’t wide if you exclude the falsetto, so if you can keep your pitch steady in falsetto, you could aim for a perfect score.

YoursMasaki Suda

This is the fifth digital-only single by singer and actor Masaki Suda, released in July 2023.

It was written as the theme song for the NTV Saturday drama “The Best Teacher: One Year Later, I Was ■ by My Student.” It’s a captivating track with a slightly bittersweet vibe at a medium-to-slow tempo.

The vocal melody flows beautifully, and there aren’t any particularly complex or hard-to-sing parts, so if you’re confident in your singing, you should definitely be able to aim for a perfect score.

Be careful not to rush the rhythm, and make sure to articulate and project each word of the lyrics with care.

TsubasaUnder Graph

It’s Under Graph’s major-label debut single, released in September 2004.

It’s a mid-tempo rock number with an easy-to-follow rhythm and a very simple, catchy vocal melody, making it a song where aiming for a perfect 100 at karaoke feels relatively achievable.

The tricky part when aiming for 100 is likely the B melody, where the pitch changes continuously, so be sure to listen closely to the original and study it before giving it a try.
