Roller CoasterPEARL CENTER

PEARL CENTER – Humor(Official Music Video)
Roller CoasterPEARL CENTER

Formed in 2019, Pearl Center drew attention with the fully self-produced EP “near dawn,” released in August.

Their catchy, sweet R&B highlights each member’s distinct career.

It’s a fine four-piece: MATTON, the vocalist of the much-missed band PAELLAS that disbanded at the end of the year; inui, vocalist of YOUR ROMANCE; TiMT, a trackmaker who’s also part of the Pistachio Studio crew alongside chelmico’s Mamiko Suzuki and has worked on remixes for Ghost like girlfriend, among others; and msd, formerly of PAELLAS.

No OnePOPS Study Group

A track with a perfect vibe for those who seek harmony between nature and the city—people who look for nature in the urban jungle and those who look for the city in the great outdoors.

It’s not the typical four-on-the-floor beat you hear in dance numbers, yet it somehow delivers a groove that makes your body sway.

The lyrics are in Japanese, but the music has such a cutting-edge quality that you wouldn’t think it’s a Japanese track, making it something you’d want to recommend both to casual listeners and to music aficionados alike!

Good Vibes Only feat. JP THE WAVY, EXILE SHOKICHISALU

It starts with a poppy synthesizer sound that instantly sets a fun vibe.

The music video gives off a summer feel, but it’s sure to hype things up at outdoor events in spring or autumn, or even at winter amusement spots! It’s the kind of song that makes you want to throw your arms around your friends and sway side to side while laughing out loud.

The most striking part is the lyrics—they’re so fun that you’ll want to look up what they’re saying.

The call-and-response shouts like “ei~” and “u~” also convey a carefree, playful mood that really lifts the energy!

Fade OutSARA-J & starRo

With delicate, message-driven lyrics and a gentle vocal timbre that seems to nestle close to the listener’s heart, this song leaves a strong impression and is a collaboration between SARA-J and starRo.

The recurring, questioning phrases evoke themes of seeking trust and understanding.

Its chill sound appears aimed at soothing deep emotions.

An official remix by FOFU was released on July 30, 2019, drawing attention.

Its acclaim further expanded as it was also featured in a commercial tie-in.

SawaAngstrom’s track “SweetImpact” brilliantly fuses experimental electronic sounds with ethnic percussion.

Since SawaAngstrom was formed in Kyoto, I strongly feel an atmosphere reminiscent of shrines and temples, as well as a sense of religious art throughout.

The use of synths and other sounds is very pleasing, giving it an addictive quality that makes you want to play it on repeat.

A track by Shin Sakiura, a producer and guitarist based in Tokyo.

The smooth Japanese rap intertwines with HIP HOP-style, laid-back beats, and it feels incredibly good! Listening to it while walking through the city puts you in a stylish mood and transforms the scenery you’re used to into something with a different vibe.

It seems he also provides music for apparel brands and commercials, so it has a strong sense of style—like being dressed in clothing made of sound.

Such a cool track!

Life’s too short (feat. J.Lamotta)Sweet William, J.Lamotta

A track from Sweet William’s EP “Brown,” featuring a minimal beat infused with the essence of Brazilian music and a keen sense of ma—the artful pauses slipped in at just the right moments.

The lush sampling feels wonderfully satisfying.

Born from a collaboration with the German singer J.

Lamotta, the song seems to carry a message about the brevity and preciousness of life.

Through its soothing beat and melody, it evokes deep emotions—calm yet powerful.
