AllegroMidnight Grand Orchestra

Midnight Grand Orchestra is a unit formed by the hugely popular VTuber Suisei Hoshimachi—whose singing you can hear in the city almost every day—and composer TAKU INOUE.
Their songs often feature an artcore-like flavor and are full of speed and drive.
Their new track, Allegro, follows that trend: the first half has an artcore-style tone, while the latter half incorporates rock elements.
There are many sections that switch between falsetto and chest voice, and frequent key changes, so it takes considerable vocal skill to pull off.
Crimson Lotus FlowerLiSA

This is LiSA’s 15th single overall, released in July 2019.
It served as the opening theme for the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and, riding on the anime’s success, became a massive hit.
I’m sure many of you have heard it.
While LiSA’s dynamic and powerful vocals on this track are certainly worthy of praise, I personally believe the most noteworthy aspect of her singing here is the switch in vocal expression from the opening section—just piano and voice—to the moment the band comes in.
That kind of sudden yet seamless shift in singing is surprisingly hard to pull off when you actually try it.
I encourage you to sing it with attention to that level of detail.
dandelionLila Ikuta

This is Lila Ikuta’s eighth digital-only single, released in January 2023; she is also active as ikura, the vocalist of YOASOBI.
By the way, the title “蒲公英” is read as “Tanpopo,” meaning dandelion.
Lila Ikuta has long been praised for her captivating high-tone voice, and that charm is in full effect in this track as well! By skillfully switching between a chest voice that resonates with rich upper overtones and a soft falsetto (head voice), she delivers a brilliant performance.
If you can reproduce this at karaoke, you’re sure to earn admiration from those around you.
But please, don’t strain your throat trying to force the high notes.
Server Downpurple now

Shikon, a female singer-songwriter who gained nationwide popularity with “Masho no Onna A,” may give many people the impression—based on her debut—of producing Japanese-style songs.
However, her roots lie in Western music, and she excels overall at R&B-based tracks.
Among her works, the one I particularly recommend is “Server Down.” It’s a downbeat R&B number, but with sudden bursts into falsetto and frequent use of advanced vocal embellishments (runs/ad-libs), placing its level of difficulty among the highest in Japanese music.
HEART BEATYOASOBI

This is YOASOBI’s 22nd digital single released exclusively for streaming in December 2023.
As you’d expect from Ayase, who is also a Vocaloid producer, YOASOBI’s songs often feature vocal melodies that are quite challenging for human singers, and this track is no exception, with many tricky sections, especially around the chorus.
The most important thing when singing this song is, above all, to thoroughly study the track in advance.
Pay attention to how rests are treated within the song—where to sustain notes and where to cut them—and sing accordingly.
Also, aim for a clear vocal tone.
If you try to place the sound so it resonates against the upper palate inside your mouth, you can achieve a voice rich in pleasant high overtones, similar to vocalist ikura’s.
Give it a try!
Shut up.Ado

Ado, who made her major debut in 2020 at the young age of 17, became a hot topic.
Her debut song, Usseewa, became a massive hit as her signature track.
The song is especially striking for her androgynous, powerful vocals—her key appeal—and many listeners likely felt at first listen, “This isn’t a song you can sing easily…” The way she switches between various tones, from cool, steady singing to shout-like growls, is incredibly cool.
On top of that, the song’s tempo is very fast and the developments come in rapid succession, so being able to sing this track would undoubtedly look impressive!
Goodbye DeclarationChinozo

Chinozo’s 2020 release “Good-bye Declaration” is a dance track that’s popular on TikTok! Many well-known singers have uploaded their own “tried singing” covers, too.
This song is especially tricky when it comes to nailing the pitch and dynamics.
But once you get those down, it’s a super fun song to sing, so it’s one I definitely recommend for women who are confident with Vocaloid tracks.
To hit the pitches cleanly, it’s also important to find the vocal range that suits you.
Don’t feel tied to the original key—try changing it to the key that fits you best and give it a go!
