[Recommended] Short, easy-to-sing Japanese karaoke songs
I think there are quite a few people who aren’t good with karaoke, but sometimes you just can’t turn it down because of social obligations.
What’s more, there may be situations where, once you go, you can’t get away without singing at least one song.
So, I’m going to introduce some short songs that are easy to sing even for those who aren’t comfortable with karaoke!
Most of the songs I’m about to introduce are a little over three minutes long, but some are around two minutes.
Long songs can be tough for people who aren’t confident about singing, but you might be able to manage a short one!
Also, feel free to use this as a reference when choosing the final song as your room time is about to run out.

buster call04 Limited Sazabys

A hugely popular song by a four-piece rock band from Nagoya.
When it’s played live, people get lifted during the slow first half, and the moment the chorus hits, a wave of crowd surfers appears—an absolute classic.
It’s structured like a typical melodic hardcore track and runs about two minutes.
It’s short, but the key is high, so men should take care when singing it!
men and womenTaro

It’s a popular novelty song to sing at karaoke.
Many people have probably heard this track that keeps repeating “man and woman…” over and over.
It gets progressively harder to sing and ends up feeling like a mouth exercise, which is part of the fun.
If you’re not confident in your singing and don’t want to “compete through singing,” try nailing this song perfectly and go for laughs!
Lies and Scarsivdot

Ivu-dot is a singer who’s popular among teenage listeners, known for his clear, translucent vocals.
This track, “Uso to Kizuato” (Lies and Scars), is one of his shorter songs that I especially recommend.
Since it features a lot of falsetto, it might be tough for those who can’t hit high notes, but the vocal line itself isn’t particularly complex, so if you can reach the notes it’s surprisingly singable.
And because it’s short, even the high sections shouldn’t be too taxing on your stamina.
Definitely give it a listen.
Until we meet againyuzu

This is a popular song by Yuzu that runs about three and a half minutes.
It has a relaxed tempo and a warm, gentle vibe.
The soft voices of the two Yuzu members suit it perfectly.
It’s short with just the right tempo, can be sung as a duo, and I think it’s an easy song to try even for people who aren’t good at karaoke.
umbrellaKing Gnu

A track featured as the commercial song for Bourbon’s chocolate snack, Alfort! It packs King Gnu’s world view into 3 minutes and 20 seconds, and it’s an incredibly cool song.
If you sing it, people might ask, “Are you really bad at karaoke?” because it leaves such a strong, cool impression.
You can sing it without sounding like you’re not good at it!
Fight!!Harukamirai

Youthful punk bursting with passion! It’s a song by Harukamirai, included on their album “Hoshikuzu no Uta,” released in November 2017.
At just about a minute long, it packs a powerful punch that shakes the listener’s heart.
It carries uplifting messages—like a fiery cheer for friends and the importance of living true to yourself.
Seems perfect as the first song to sing at karaoke, don’t you think?
Magic SoupWurtS

A track by WurtS, a 21st-century artist who went viral on social media—especially TikTok—and self-produces everything from lyrics, composition, arrangement, and design to video.
Despite being under three minutes, it’s a number that lets you fully savor the coolness of rock, with catchy guitar riffs, driving chord progressions, and energetic beats.
The melody isn’t particularly fast, and the overall key is low, making it easy to sing even for people who aren’t confident at karaoke.
Plus, its length and energy level make it perfect for hyping up the room right before your karaoke time ends, so it’s a great song to learn as one of your go-to tracks.
