Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register

As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.
So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.
We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

A Good Day to Set Out on a JourneyShinji Tanimura

This time, I’m introducing the self-cover version of a song written by Shinji Tanimura of the folk/new music trio Alice for Momoe Yamaguchi.
As a single by Momoe Yamaguchi, it was released in November 1978 and was also used at the time as a campaign song for the former Japanese National Railways (now JR).
Shinji Tanimura is an incredibly compelling singer whose lower register carries both strength and tenderness, and his soaring high notes alongside that rich low end make you want to say, “As expected!” By all means, use your proud ‘ikebo’—that irresistible cool voice—to sing this mellow ballad and captivate your listeners!
Line(s) of dialogueMasaki Suda

“Serifu,” included on Masaki Suda’s first album PLAY.
The song was written and composed by singer-songwriter Huwie Ishizaki.
It’s a track about heartbreak and a sorrowful male perspective; while putting on a tough front, you can really feel how deeply he loved her.
The melody has relatively few big pitch changes and tends to sit in a lower range overall, making it easier to sing for those who struggle with high notes.
The phrasing has a bit of a distinctive twist, so it’s worth practicing that part.
MugenPorno Graffitti

It was selected as NHK’s theme song for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and released the same year as Porno Graffitti’s 9th single.
The slightly dark lyrics make it a cool track.
With its steady, understated melody line, it’s easy to sing even for lower voices.
cherry blossomKetsumeishi

This song is practically a spring classic.
The key is low and doesn’t require belting, so it’s perfect for men with lower voices.
However, the rap sections are fast-paced, so they can be tricky if you’re not used to them.
It’s a masterpiece that’ll have you swaying before you know it.
SMILE ~Like a Clear, Sunlit Sky~Keisuke Kuwata

This was Keisuke Kuwata’s first digital-only single, released on July 21, 2021.
It was planned as the theme song for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by the five major Japanese commercial TV networks—Nippon TV, TV Asahi, TBS, TV Tokyo, and Fuji TV—but due to the spread of COVID-19 and the one-year postponement of the Games, it ended up being released in 2021.
Kuwata’s slightly husky, resonant low voice is already well-known, but upon first listen, it feels like his vocals here have reached a mature, fully seasoned stage, giving the song a highly appealing tone.
Melodically, there aren’t any particularly difficult parts to sing, so it’s a track that even men who struggle with high notes can enjoy singing.
Dawn BeatFujifabric

A track from Fujifabric’s fourth album, “MUSIC,” released in July 2010.
It’s a song left behind by the late Shimura, who passed away the previous year, and fans will no doubt find it poignant that the vocal track and the latter half’s guitar solo use his original demo as is.
The song is a quintessential Fujifabric dance/rock number, and you can fully enjoy Shimura’s slightly husky voice with its laid-back feel.
When singing it at karaoke, the key is how well you can recreate that distinctive sense of relaxed delivery.
Make sure to project properly, but be careful not to put more force into the singing than the song requires.

CUBEGen Hoshino

It’s a digital-only single by Gen Hoshino, released on October 18, 2021.
It also serves as the theme song for the film of the same title.
True to Hoshino’s music—which features a surprisingly masculine vocal tone despite his gentle appearance—this track is likely one of the best choices for low-voiced men to pick at karaoke.
To make your low notes resonate and carry well, you’ll need to use so-called chest voice, placing the sound toward the lower jaw and using the chest cavity as a resonator.
This song is also ideal as a practice piece for developing that chest voice.
Definitely give it a try! The song has a slightly up-tempo, catchy groove, so singing it will surely put you in a good mood, too!
