Even karaoke beginners can relax! Easy-to-sing songs for men (111–120)

If I sing to the sky175R

This is a punk band that has, for the first time in a while, received solid recognition in the mainstream.

Both now and in the past, punk bands tend to be seen as “music anyone can make.” It’s true there may not be many technically demanding songs, but that’s precisely why their power as spokespeople for a rebellious spirit is put to the test.

I want to be kinder.Kazuyoshi Saito

Kazuyoshi Saito – I Want to Be Kind [Live at Nippon Budokan 2012.2.11]
I Want to Be Kind - Kazuyoshi Saito

This song, which gained popularity as the theme for the TV drama “Kaseifu no Mita,” doesn’t suddenly jump to higher pitches in the chorus, and the tempo isn’t fast, so it’s great for karaoke.

The lyrics, which express honest feelings, also make it easier to sing.

turquoiseSEKAI NO OWARI

SEKAI NO OWARI “Turquoise”
Turquoise SEKAI NO OWARI

This is SEKAI NO OWARI’s 17th major-label single, released in April 2023.

It was chosen as the theme song for Kirin’s “Hyoketsu.” Fukase, the vocalist of SEKAI NO OWARI, is a singer known for his boyish, high voice, so some listeners might recoil at first and think, “There’s no way I can sing something this high!” However, if you listen closely, you’ll find that the vocal melody doesn’t actually span a very wide range.

So please set aside any preconceptions and give it a try—you’ll likely find you can sing it quite casually, almost like humming along.

If you place the sound in your mouth as if you’re directing it toward the upper palate, you’ll enhance the higher overtones in your voice, bringing it closer to the feel of the original track.

Give it a try!

Words of FarewellKaientai

Kaientai - Okuru Kotoba (Words of Farewell)
Farewell Words by Kaientai

Kaientai, led by Tetsuya Takeda, released their 16th single in November 1979.

As many of you may know, it was the theme song for the first season of the smash-hit TV drama “Mr.

Kinpachi in Class 3-B,” which began airing that fall with Tetsuya Takeda in the lead role.

It’s also become something of a standard at graduation ceremonies, so many of you may have sung it at your school’s graduation.

Musically, the melody doesn’t feature any extreme leaps, and Takeda’s vocals—quintessentially those of a “Showa-era middle-aged man,” for better or worse—make it a piece that even people who aren’t confident singers will likely find approachable.

MapleSpitz

This is Spitz’s 19th single, released on July 7, 1998.

It was a single cut from the album “Fake Fur” and was used as the opening theme for TBS’s COUNT DOWN TV.

With its medium-to-slow tempo and very singable rhythm, it should be relatively easy to sing even for those who don’t usually sing much.

If you find the chorus melody a bit high in pitch, try adjusting the key in karaoke.

The actual vocal range used in the melody isn’t particularly wide, so that should be sufficient.

GO!!!FLOW

FLOW 'GO!!! ~15th Anniversary ver.~' (Music Video Full Ver. with Commentary)
GO!!!FLOW

With its intense tempo, FLOW’s “GO!!!” is famous as a Naruto opening.

To nail the first hook, it’s not a bad idea to practice just the beginning.

Once you lock in the vocal tone, the melody and rhythm are easy to grasp.

If you sing it well, you can fire up the karaoke room in an instant.

Lots of people know it, so go all out and get everyone hyped.

I won't fall in love anymore.Noriyuki Makihara

[Official] Noriyuki Makihara “I Won’t Fall in Love Again” (Music Video) [5th Single] (1992) Noriyuki Makihara / Mou Koi Nante Shinai
I Won’t Fall in Love Anymore – Noriyuki Makihara

“I Won’t Fall in Love Again” is a song about a man’s feelings after parting with his beloved girlfriend.

Rather than a painful heartbreak ballad, it carries a positive message about both of them moving forward into the future.

While it’s hard to replicate Noriyuki Makihara’s distinctive high, gentle voice, the song’s range is manageable even when sung in a normal voice, so it’s best to sing it calmly.

As long as you catch the pitch at the beginning, it’s a relatively easy song—so much so that practicing just the opening can be enough.
