We’ve selected many songs with simple melodies and rhythms that are easy to remember, so please use this as a reference!

Daydream BelieverThe Timers

THE TIMERS – Daydream Believer (Hammock Mix)
Daydream Believer The Timers

It’s an ultra-famous song with an impressively wistful intro, sung by Kiyoshiro Imawano under the name “Jelly.” It was even used as the theme song for 7-Eleven, so there may be hardly anyone who hasn’t heard it.

It’s a crowd-pleaser, making it a great choice for karaoke.

strawberryBUMP OF CHICKEN

BUMP OF CHICKEN is a rock band that continues to be loved by a wide range of generations.

They release songs consistently and keep dropping great tracks at a pretty high rate.

Among their songs, one I especially recommend is “strawberry.” Many of their tracks span a wide vocal range, but this one is set on the narrower side.

With a distinctly J-pop, very catchy and easy-to-groove rhythm and melody, it’s a song that even men who can’t hit high notes or aren’t confident singers should be able to handle without any trouble.

I want to hug you.The Birthday

The Birthday – I Want to Hold You
I Want to Hold You (The Birthday)

The Birthday is a band with an impressive sound that mixes psychobilly and garage.

They’ve been active for a long time, but since the 2020s they’ve had a resurgence and have started gaining support from younger listeners.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is Dakishimetai (“I Want to Hold You”).

It’s a garage-style track, with a rough vocal line throughout.

That roughness is part of its charm, but it also makes it easier to cover without being too precise.

For that reason, it’s a very singable song for men.

cherry blossomKetsumeishi

Sakura – Ketsumeishi (Full)
Sakura Ketsumeishi

It’s a slightly bittersweet number released by Ketsumeishi in 2005, about remembering a former lover while looking at cherry blossoms.

The rap parts might take some practice, but the chorus is easy to sing without having to belt it out, so it’s recommended.

It’s a classic that’s relatively easy to sing even within hip-hop.

Everything becomes my strength!trash

"Kuzu" - "Everything will become my strength!" with lyrics (in the description)
Everything will become my strength! Scum.

This is a vocal duo formed by Hiroyuki Miyasako of Ameagari Kesshitai and Tomomitsu Yamaguchi—then of DonDokoDon—on the comedy show ‘One-Night R&R,’ which has produced numerous artists.

With minimal pitch variation and a familiar melodic line, it’s an easy song to sing even at karaoke.

FANTASTIPOTora Ji Haiji

(Singing Impression 16) Toraji Haiji 'Fantastipo'
FANTASTIPO Toraji & Haiji

The title Fantastipo is also the title of a movie starring TOKIO member Taichi Kokubun and KinKi Kids’ Tsuyoshi Domoto.

Sparked by this film, they formed “Toraji & Haiji” under their character names and released the song.

It’s a very upbeat track, so you can sing it at karaoke without hesitation.

Blow Your CoverNumber_i

Number_i – Blow Your Cover (Official Dance Performance M/V)
Blow Your CoverNumber_i

Number_i is a dance-vocal group consisting of Shiyoh Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi.

They’re a group whose popularity is skyrocketing.

The song they released in April 2024 is Blow Your Cover.

While this track has strong R&B characteristics, it doesn’t feature advanced techniques like vocal runs or shouts that you’d hear in authentic R&B.

That makes it easy to sing even for listeners who aren’t familiar with Black music.

If you want to make it sound even better, focus on the groove of the track as you sing.
