BEATWurtS

WurtS – BEAT (Music Video) [Theme song for the NTV Wednesday drama “Love Is Darkness”]
BEATWurtS

The artist WurtS has released many classic tracks with a style that incorporates a wide range of musical influences.

Lately, he’s gained popularity through collaborations with other artists, but now he’s dropped a solo hit: “BEAT.” It’s a highly alternative piece, built predominantly around the midrange throughout.

There’s a fair amount of low-mid content as well, making it an ideal song to showcase the rich midrange that only singers with lower vocal registers can achieve.

Unchanging Things by Daiki Ueno

Daiki Ueno is a singer-songwriter known for his warm vocals.

His version of “Kawaranai Mono” is a cover of Hanako Oku’s original, characterized by a lower, restrained key that gives it a more grounded feel.

While there aren’t distinctly low parts, the lowered key brings out many midrange phrases where vocal richness can shine.

If it feels a bit high for you, don’t hesitate to lower the key further when singing.

Because this song can easily lose volume, it’s recommended to turn down the backing track when singing it at karaoke.

Syrup Shota Shimizu

Shota Shimizu’s new song “Syrup.” Shimizu is known for his music that prominently incorporates authentic R&B, and while this track retains those elements, it’s shaped into a lighter, more modern R&B style.

He isn’t necessarily a low-voiced artist, but since most of this song sits in the mid-to-low range, it should really showcase the appeal of male singers with lower voices.

It’s also recommended to intentionally lower the key to emphasize the low end even more.

Shota Araya – Peanut Butter (Official Music Video)
Peanut Butter Araya Shota

Singer-songwriter Shota Araya, who has gained popularity for his highly original sound that blends Black music with contemporary J-pop.

He drew attention as the former vocalist of a popular band, but he’s focused more on the music itself than chasing popularity, and has produced several acclaimed tracks.

The song I’d like to recommend from his work is Peanut Butter.

While it has an R&B feel, the vocal line is relatively understated, and the song as a whole is built around the low to low-mid range.

in limbo / hanging in the air / unresolvedsmall gift

When it comes to Soshina from Shimofuri Myojo, he’s known not only as a comedian but also for his work as a musician.

His style is diverse—he’s even tried his hand as a Vocaloid producer—but “Chuburarin” is a straight-up rock band-style track, with Soshina on vocals and guitar.

The rough guitar sound, urgent rhythm, spit-out lyrics, and distinctive vocal tone drew a lot of attention.

With a very simple chord progression and song structure, the melody is easy to remember, and if you’re feeling stressed, belting this song out at full volume might be a great way to blow off steam.

Barefoot AdventureGadoro

GADORO – Barefoot Adventure (Prod. Kiwy)
Barefoot Adventure Gadoro

Rapper GADORO, who draws high praise within the industry for his raw lyrics rooted in a life once buried in debt and his outstanding rap skills.

He has many classic tracks, but among them, the one I especially recommend to men as easy to sing is Hadashi no Bōken.

It’s a standout piece with masculine lyrics and a memorable melody, built throughout on highly melodic rap.

If you find the style of Ketsumeishi easy to sing, this is a must-listen.

Tokyo SNGShingo Katori

It’s the lead track from Shingo Katori’s second album, “Tokyo SNG,” which was released on April 13, 2022.

It’s been crafted into a song where you can enjoy a very stylish, old-jazz-style arrangement and sound.

When you hear “jazz,” some people might brace themselves thinking it seems hard to sing, but there’s nothing to worry about! The vocal melody itself is very simple, and the range used isn’t very wide, so anyone should be able to enjoy singing it.

Just be careful not to sing without locking into the swinging beat, as that can ruin the vibe of the song.

Also, try to keep your singing powerful throughout.
