StarGen Hoshino

Gen Hoshino’s sixth studio album, Gen, released in May 2025, is creating major buzz and earning high praise.
A diverse array of musicians from Japan and abroad have come together to craft a new Hoshino sonic world that even discerning music fans are raving about.
Star, featured here, is a pre-released track from the album—a killer tune built on a chic production led by light, groovy piano tones.
It’s the kind of song that will fire up both karaoke and road trips, so definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
There are parts that make heavy use of falsetto, but try not to force it—deliver it smoothly and coolly.
Full of blueYuya Fujita

Yuya Fujita is a singer-songwriter from Hyogo Prefecture.
He is known as an artist who does everything himself—from writing lyrics and composing to arranging and producing music videos—and he continues to actively perform at street shows and small venues.
Among his songs, the one I especially recommend is Ao Ippai (Full of Blue).
It features a Heisei-era sound reminiscent of Mr.
Children, with a friendly, approachable vocal line.
It may sound like a high song, but the vocal range isn’t that wide, so even men with lower voices can sing it comfortably as long as they adjust it to their own key.
Me too,YUTORI-SEDAI

The trio YUTORI-SEDAI, hailing from West Tokyo, has enjoyed immense popularity among younger generations through social media since their indie days, and finally made their long-awaited major debut in April 2025.
Their track “Watashi datte,” included on their major debut EP “blanket,” was pre-released in March of the same year and chosen as the theme song for the drama “Toshishita Doutei-kun ni Honrou Saretemasu,” making it a notable release.
It’s a signature love ballad from the band, featuring poignant guitar arpeggios, strings, and piano tones.
The melody line is very straightforward, and as long as you can handle the falsetto in the chorus, you should be able to sing it without issue.
Be mindful of the gradually building melodic progression, and aim for a dynamic, well-contrasted vocal delivery.
helm’N bass10-FEET

10-FEET is a three-piece rock band that represents Japan.
They debuted in 2001, but experienced a resurgence in the 2020s and are now widely supported by younger listeners.
Among their songs, one I especially recommend for men because it’s easy to sing is “helm’N bass.” It starts with a reggae vibe, but once the track really kicks in, it settles into straightforward alternative rock.
Although it gives an intense impression, the vocal range is narrow, so definitely give it a try.
Bridge of Gloryyuzu

This is Yuzu’s 21st single, released on July 22, 2004.
It’s a simple, acoustic ballad, so some people might hesitate, thinking, “If I sing a song like this, won’t all the flaws in my singing stand out?” But there’s no need to worry! Of course, the two members of Yuzu are wonderful artists with great expressive vocal ability, but I think one of their charms is their simplicity.
With this song, rather than trying to sing it in a showy or overly polished way, if you just belt it out honestly, as you feel it, I’m sure something will come across to those who listen.
That’s part of what makes this song appealing.
Don’t be afraid—give it a try!
Bon-giri Love SongSouthern All Stars

This is Southern All Stars’ fourth digital-only single, released in July 2023.
The slightly bouncy beat leaves quite an impression.
The vocal melody doesn’t span a wide range, making it easy to hum along and enjoy, so it’s recommended for those who prioritize singability.
However, be careful not to sing the lyrics too flatly.
With a strong sense of rhythm, you’ll be able to sing this song more freely and enjoyably.
For those who like impersonations, trying a Kuwata-style vocal could be another fun twist.
Blow away your daily stress with this one track and put it to use for your well-being.
HAPPYBUMP OF CHICKEN

This song features the phrase “Happy Birthday” in its lyrics, but when you read them closely, you’ll find it’s packed with words that can also be taken as a cheer for life.
It’s the kind of song that gives you the courage to take one more step when you’re troubled and feel like giving up.
Like other songs by BUMP OF CHICKEN, one of the reasons it’s easy to sing is its relatively narrow range—just a little over one octave.
On top of that, the tempo is relaxed and the melody progresses gently, so even those who aren’t confident in their singing will find it easy to try.
