[If You Can Sing These, You’re Awesome!] Cool Karaoke Songs for Women (231–240)
Moon DropsRUI

A song released under the name RUI by Kou Shibasaki, who is also active as an actress in numerous dramas and films.
RUI is the name of the character she plays in the film “Yomigaeri,” for which this song was used as the theme.
There is also a scene in the movie where she performs the song.
Although she is an actress, her vocal ability is truly impressive.
She has released many other songs as well, and they have been featured in various dramas and films.
Try singing it gently yet powerfully, so as not to be outdone by the grandeur of the melody!
Line of sightSCANDAL

This is the sixth digital-only single by the Japanese girls’ rock band SCANDAL, released in March 2023.
Over an up-tempo, hard rock sound, HARUNA’s powerful vocals truly shine.
To recreate this power in karaoke, it’s essential to be able to sing with solid low-range projection.
Many women may find singing in a lower register challenging, but it’s a song I’d love confident singers to try.
Practice using a chest voice that resonates in the thoracic cavity so you can produce a robust sound in the lower range.
August NightSilent Siren

This heart-thumping track with a four-on-the-floor beat is by Silent Siren, a girls’ band whose members also work as models.
It was released in 2015 as their 10th single.
A cute rock number that sings about feelings for someone you like.
FallSuperfly

When it comes to cool female musicians, doesn’t Superfly come to mind? “Fall” is included on the 2018 single “Bloom.” Its mature, jazzy vibe is super cool.
If you can pull this off at karaoke, you might just become a hero!
Friday’s Free FairTERRA ROSA

The Terra Rosa I’m introducing this time may be something of a well-kept secret to the general public, but in the world of Japanese-style melodic HR/HM, it’s no exaggeration to call them a heavyweight.
If you’re into this genre, you’ve probably heard them at least once.
The first thing that will blow you away when you listen is the voice of vocalist Kazue Akao! It’s a powerful voice that sounds almost like a male singer, but she’s a woman! If a female singer picks this song at karaoke and delivers it with the same power as the original, she’s sure to be the center of attention.
It’s a pretty niche genre, but I’d love to see more people take on the challenge of singing this track.
By the way, a little tidbit: the drummer on this song, Nobuo Horie, is also the drummer for my unit, babywildcherry!
W/X/YTani Yuuki

This is the fifth digital single by Japanese singer-songwriter Tani Yuuki, released on May 26.
I think the chorus melody, centered around the mid-range, is relatively easy to sing, but the low notes in the A section and the fast, sharply rising and falling phrases in the following B section can be quite challenging.
For the low notes in the A section, try practicing to produce a voice that resonates solidly in the chest—using a strong chest voice.
PassionUA

This is a song sung poignantly and emotionally over sparse piano.
Its popularity surged among younger listeners after Miliyah Kato covered it.
It’s a track where emotional immersion is the primary challenge, and it shines exceptionally when you want to center a karaoke performance on making people feel.
