Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high school students to sing

Compared to today’s songs, older tracks didn’t pack in as many words.

Because of that, many of them were, on the surface, easier to sing than modern songs.

That doesn’t mean today’s songs are necessarily harder, though.

Since recent songs tend to cram in more words, it’s actually easier to disguise flaws, so depending on the track, some can be quite easy for anyone to sing well.

This time, I’ve picked out songs from that category that I especially recommend for high school students.

We’ll be featuring the latest tracks, so be sure to check it out to the end!

Future Vision Marcy

Marcy is a three-piece rock band expanding their fan base with emotionally charged love songs woven with a translucent singing voice.

“Mirai-zu,” a track released in advance from their first album Memory, has garnered high praise not only in Japan but also from listeners overseas.

The melody is relaxed with no wide leaps in pitch, making it easy to sing, but the rhythm pattern in the A section is complex, so be careful not to lose the beat.

It’s a pop tune with a straightforward message of love that resonates in the heart and feels great to sing at karaoke.

I won’t forget that I did nothing for two hours.

Wasure ran nee yo is a band that’s gained popularity with its sharp rock sound and comical lyrics.

They’re especially supported by guys in their teens and twenties.

Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend for people who aren’t confident in singing is “Did Nothing for Two Hours.” While it’s on the slightly higher side vocally, the melody is easy to remember, and you don’t need to sing it perfectly clean, so overall it’s a low-difficulty song.

The fact that it’s very short is also one of the reasons it’s easy to sing.

Comdot, a YouTuber group hugely popular among young people.

Although they’ve recently been plagued by various troubles and have been losing subscribers, they still enjoy overwhelming popularity.

The song “look at the sea” is by Yuma, a member of Comdot.

It’s a refreshing pop tune, and since Yuma isn’t a professional vocalist, the vocal line throughout is arranged to be very easy to sing.

Right now, the most popular idol group is Atarashii Gakko! (New School Leaders).

They’ve captured attention with their unique personas—unlike previous idols—and a nostalgic musical style that matches the revival boom.

Among their songs, one that’s especially easy to sing is Otona Blue.

Since it features elements of kayōkyoku (classic Japanese pop), it’s arranged with a relaxed tempo and a mature, singable melody reminiscent of older tracks.

It sits in the mid-range, which also makes it comfortable for men to sing.

EdisonWednesday Campanella

Wednesday Campanella is a musical unit that earns high praise not only from the general public but also from hardcore music aficionados, thanks to their unique lyrics and high-sense house music.

Their track Edison, released in 2022, became a nationwide hit through platforms like TikTok.

As it’s house music, the track itself remains the star, which naturally lowers the difficulty of the vocals.

There are no particularly high parts, so as long as you can keep your pitch steady, anyone should be able to sing it well.

Awich is a great rapper who could be said to carry not just the female side but the entire Japanese hip-hop scene on her back.

Many high school girls probably look up to her, don’t they? Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is “Bad B*tch Bigaku Remix (Prod.

Chaki Zulu).” Her music has strong old-school and middle-school characteristics, so even if you’re not used to rapping, it should be easy to perform.

Try singing with a staccato feel and be mindful of adding dynamics to your flow.

Champion RoadBAD HOP

Champion RoadBAD HOP

Not long ago, the popular hip-hop crew BAD HOP announced their breakup.

They’re one of Japan’s premier crews and have kept dropping big tunes, so I think many high schoolers know them.

Their new track “Champion Road” is a rare song featuring all eight members again.

It’s a very cool track, and aside from Benjazzy’s verse, it’s put together in a catchy way, so any high schooler who’s a head should be able to rap along without a problem.
