Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high school students to sing
Compared to today’s songs, older tracks didn’t pack in as many words.
Because of that, many of them were, on the surface, easier to sing than modern songs.
That doesn’t mean today’s songs are necessarily harder, though.
Since recent songs tend to cram in more words, it’s actually easier to disguise flaws, so depending on the track, some can be quite easy for anyone to sing well.
This time, I’ve picked out songs from that category that I especially recommend for high school students.
We’ll be featuring the latest tracks, so be sure to check it out to the end!

Karaoke songs that are easy and fun for high school students to sing (111–120)
rayBUMP OF CHICKEN

This is BUMP OF CHICKEN’s second digital-only single, released in March 2014.
The song drew attention for its collaboration with Hatsune Miku, but since we’re introducing it as a karaoke pick this time, here’s the standalone band version.
It’s a lively, up-tempo pop-rock track that’s very true to their style, and it should be great fun to sing at karaoke.
There aren’t any particularly difficult parts to sing, so enjoy yourself and blow off some steam! High school students might find a lot of the lyrics especially relatable.
RaiseChilli Beans.

Chilli Beans.
is a three-piece band formed in 2019.
While they’re categorized as a J-POP band, they actually have many stylish songs influenced by Western music, and they’re popular among high school students.
Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend is Raise.
This song is also very stylish, but rather than showcasing the vocals, it captivates through overall balance, so the vocal line is crafted to be relatively easy.
If you want to make it sound cool, try singing it at karaoke with a smooth yet confident delivery.
Choo Choo TRAINEXILE

EXILE covered ZOO’s 1991 release “Choo Choo TRAIN,” and it became a big hit.
The dance where everyone lines up and spins around is still timeless, and copying it always gets people excited.
With its narrow melodic range, it’s an easy song to sing even for those who aren’t confident singers.
One Chance Summer LOVEEXIT featuring NANA

A collaboration track between the comedy duo EXIT and former NMB48 member Nana Yamada.
Released in July 2019.
If you pick this song for karaoke, the key point will be how coolly you can nail the rap parts.
When you really dig into rap, it surprisingly requires a sense of pitch similar to singing, so it might be pretty challenging for those who aren’t confident singers.
In any case, focus on keeping the rhythm steady.
The female part in the original is processed in a very “Vocaloid-like” way, so perfectly recreating it in karaoke might be a bit tough.
Still, try to enjoy it and sing it through without falling behind the beat.
paprikaFoorin

This song, provided by Kenshi Yonezu to Foorin and released in 2018, has been a long-selling hit, hasn’t it? I’m sure most of you have heard it at least once.
In 2020, Yonezu himself released a self-cover version as well.
Its gently heartwarming rhythm and a melody that somehow evokes nostalgia are probably major reasons for its lasting success.
When you sing it at karaoke, don’t overthink it—just enjoy raising your voice and singing!
star performerKing Gnu

This is the sixth single by King Gnu, a popular Japanese mixture rock band, released in December 2020.
If you can sing this song stylishly at karaoke, you might become popular among your fellow high school students! There aren’t any particularly difficult parts in terms of vocal technique, but since the song is delivered at a pretty fast, rapid-fire pace, be careful with your diction! If possible, it might be better to memorize the lyrics and sing without looking at the screen.
For the A-melody part, try singing in a style somewhere between singing and rapping for an even cooler vibe.
Crimson Lotus FlowerLiSA

This is LiSA’s 15th single, released in July 2019.
Since it’s also the opening theme for the hugely popular anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, there probably aren’t many people who haven’t heard it.
When choosing songs for karaoke, it’s important to pick ones everyone present can enjoy, and in that sense, this track is an ideal choice.
It might even turn into a tug-of-war over who gets to sing it! That said, LiSA’s vocal ability is quite high, and the piercing high notes can be a bit difficult for the average person to reproduce at karaoke.
When you sing it, be mindful of the key settings.
The key to making it sound good is to produce the high notes without straining your throat as much as possible!
