peace signKenshi Yonezu

A song by Kenshi Yonezu released in June 2017.
It was used as the opening theme for the first cour of season 2 of the Yomiuri TV–affiliated anime “My Hero Academia.” The song has a relatively simple melody with a light, catchy feel, so even those who aren’t confident singers should find it easy to sing.
There are parts—especially around the chorus—where you need to sing quickly, so be careful there; ideally, memorize the lyrics before singing.
In the latter half of the chorus, the pitch moves up and down more dramatically, so watch out for that as well.
As for vocal production, while solid projection is of course best, I think singing with a natural voice without over-stylizing it will bring you closer to the feel of the original.
It’s a very fun song, so don’t overthink it—enjoy!
YoursMasaki Suda

Masaki Suda’s fifth overall digital-only single, released in July 2023.
Set over a simply arranged ballad, it’s a track that really lets you savor Suda’s unadorned vocals.
The vocal melody is very straightforward and simple, so it should feel quite easy to sing for most people.
Mastering the falsetto used in the high notes is likely the key to scoring high, so if you study that part well beforehand, your performance will come out even better!
Loop & LoopASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION

Many Asian Kung-Fu Generation songs don’t have big melodic ups and downs in a good way, and their vocal range is relatively narrow, so a lot of them are singable for most men.
That said, the key is whether you can bring out that unique, unmistakable AKFG style within the limited range.
SUMMER LIONflumpool

Flumpool is a rock band that was hugely active in the 2000s.
They took a break for a while due to vocalist Ryuta Yamamura’s illness, but since resuming activities in 2019, they’ve been consistently dropping great songs again.
Among flumpool’s tracks, the one I especially recommend to men as an easy song to sing is “SUMMER LION.” It has that refreshing, uplifting flumpool vibe, and since the vocal range isn’t very wide, men can sing it with confidence.
Soaring through the night skyKetsumeishi

This is Ketsumeishi’s 34th single, released in January 2023.
It was selected as the theme song for the TV Asahi Saturday late-night drama “Rokubyoukan no Kiseki: Hanabishi Mochizuki Seitaro no Yuutsu” (The Six-Second Trajectory: The Melancholy of Seitaro Mochizuki, the Fireworks Artisan).
The song has a very relaxed tempo, and the vocal melody isn’t particularly difficult, so even those who aren’t confident singers should find it easy to hum along.
When singing, be careful to keep the slightly swinging rhythm from becoming flat, and make sure the rap parts don’t sound monotone.
BONNumber_i

Number_i is currently the most popular Japanese idol group.
Not only women but many men are also drawn to how cool they are, aren’t they? Among Number_i’s works, the one I especially recommend is “BON.” It’s a track that pairs a Japanese-style beat with stylish rap.
While the flow is somewhat complex, both the build-up and the hook are distilled into very simple vocal lines.
The range is narrow as well, so any man who can rap should be able to sing it.
LazuliMONGOL800×WANIMA

The collaboration piece Lazuli by MONGOL800 and WANIMA.
While the song has a lively vibe, the vocal lines are surprisingly gentle.
Many of WANIMA’s standalone tracks span a wide range, but since this one is a collaboration with MONGOL800, the key has been set to match them, resulting in a narrower vocal range.
In addition, there are no advanced techniques like falls or shouts, so even men who aren’t confident in their singing ability should be able to sing it smoothly.
