On this day of goodbyeAimyon

A streaming-only single by Aimyon released in February 2020.
Aimyon is also a singer whose charm lies in her low voice, so it’s highly recommended for women with lower ranges to pick for karaoke.
“Sayonara no Kyou ni” is mid-tempo and very easy to sing, so even those who feel a bit insecure about singing will probably be able to handle it fairly smoothly.
That said, if you just breeze through it, there’s a risk the song will sound very flat, so you could say it’s a piece where expressiveness matters more than vocal range.
Especially in the chorus, I think it’s good to focus on singing powerfully.
Be mindful of how you build excitement over the course of the song, and try singing with that in mind beforehand.
the end of shiteYU-KI

This was the solo debut single by YUKI, the vocalist of JUDY AND MARY, released in June 2002.
When you think of YUKI, many people picture a J-pop female singer known for her high tones, so you might be wondering, “Why YUKI in an article recommending songs for women with low voices!?” Rest assured! In this song, you won’t hear any of YUKI’s trademark bright, cute, high notes.
Perhaps she wanted to break away from her old Judy and Mary image for her solo debut—this track is a heavier rock number more like something a male singer would perform, and it’s essentially a song that only women who are strong in the lower range can sing well, rather than just women with lower voices.
YUKI’s ability to deliver even a song like this so stylishly is nothing short of impressive as a vocalist, but that aside, I highly recommend it as a karaoke pick for low-voiced women! Try singing it in a way that keeps that cool rock edge!
The Theory of HappinessRingo Sheena

Here is Shiina Ringo’s debut single, released in 1998.
It’s a song she wrote about a man she was dating when she lived in Fukuoka, and it forms a set of three tracks along with “Suberidai” and “Toki ga Bōsō Suru.” While the key may need to be lowered, the range isn’t very wide, so it’s one of those classic songs that could very well be sung by lower-voiced women.

Fortune Cookie in LoveAKB48

This is AKB48’s “Koisuru Fortune Cookie,” released in 2014 and an explosive hit.
Rino Sashihara, formerly of AKB, served as the center.
Since it’s originally a song for a large group to sing, it’s made to suit anyone’s vocal range.
The melody isn’t too high or too low, so everyone can sing along—guaranteed to be a huge hit at karaoke!
Let yourself go with the flow of timeTeresa Teng

It’s Teresa Teng’s 16th single, released in February 1986.
Although it came out near the end of the Showa era, it’s truly one of the era’s classic songs.
I imagine it’s also become a karaoke staple for the Showa generation.
The song doesn’t demand extremely high notes, but from the chorus onward, the “shine” in the midrange of the voice becomes very important.
Don’t just breeze through it because the range seems easy—focus on delivering your voice firmly to the microphone.
You don’t have to sing it with the slightly enka-like flavor of the original; it works perfectly well as a pop ballad, so you don’t need to stick too closely to the original style.
A Naked HeartAimyon

A song by Aimyon released in June 2020.
She feels absolutely at her peak right now—her charm is exploding—and that slightly husky voice and her singing ability… or rather, her expressive power, is truly striking! “Naked Heart” is an extremely straightforward ballad with a simple arrangement that hardly feels like a song from 2020, and the fact that a singer in her twenties delivers it with such expressive depth is really impressive.
She isn’t relying on any arrangement gimmicks at all! Because it’s an Aimyon song like this, performing it perfectly might be a bit of a high bar, but the melody is very simple and easy to grasp, and there aren’t any flashy high notes either, so it’s a song I’d love to recommend to women with husky voices.
First Love KillerNo Murasaki

The female singer-songwriter Noshiki, loved by many listeners for her unique musical style.
Among her many hit tunes, the one I especially recommend for women with lower voices is “First Love Killer.” This track features a comical lyric and overall tone, and its vocal line is very simple, built from repeating the same phrase.
With a very narrow range and an easy vocal line, it’s a great song for women with low voices to try.
