A must-see for low-voiced women! Popular songs that are easy to sing at karaoke

These days, many songs for both women and men are in higher keys, so there are probably many women with lower voices who feel, “I can’t find songs I can sing because my voice is low,” or “I’m looking for lower-key songs for karaoke.” Forcing yourself to sing songs that don’t suit your natural voice can hurt your throat, and it can be stressful when you can’t sing the way you want.

But don’t worry! There are plenty of songs that sound captivating even with a low voice.

In this article, we’ll introduce lots of songs that women with lower ranges can sing comfortably and confidently.

This is a digital-only single by GReeeeN, released on September 20, 2021.

It also served as the theme song for ABEMA’s “Koisuru ♥ Shuumatsu Homestay” (Love-Weekend Homestay).

The song has a very fun vibe, and don’t you feel like humming along when you listen to it? Although it’s a male-vocal track, considering the key and vocal range, I think it’s a great karaoke pick for women who are good at lower registers.

Since it’s by a vocal group, it would be a blast to sing with friends and fully recreate the harmonies!

The song “Bunny Girl” became such a hit that there’s hardly a day you don’t hear it on Instagram or TikTok.

It’s a signature work by the young singer-songwriter AKASAKI, and it went viral through social media.

While the overall feel is very light, the vocal line surprisingly sits mostly in the lower range, and the overall range is quite narrow.

That means even women who struggle with high notes can sing it without any problem.

If you want it to sound even better, try singing as if you’re directing your breath forward.

This song by Official HIGE DANDism was released in April 2022 and was written specifically as the opening theme for the TV anime SPY×FAMILY.

The vocalist, Satoshi Fujihara, is a singer who’s exceptionally good at high notes, so I feel this track could be one of the best choices for singers with lower voices (for women) to perform.

It has an appealing, slightly jazz-influenced beat, so what becomes important when singing it is how well you can recreate the feel of the 16-beat groove.

Be sure to listen closely to the drum and bass parts as you sing!

SEKAI NO OWARI at the highest point

This is SEKAI NO OWARI’s sixth digital-only single, released in September 2023.

It was written specifically as the opening theme for the TV anime One Piece.

Fukase, the vocalist of SEKAI NO OWARI, is a male singer whose voice has a charming, boyish quality.

Precisely for that reason, I can confidently recommend this song as a karaoke choice for women with lower voices.

It’s a slightly uptempo, breezy track, so be mindful not to let the rhythm of your singing get too heavy.

SNOW SOUND[Alexandros]

[Alexandros] – SNOW SOUND (MV)
SNOW SOUND[Alexandros]

It’s a superb track with an exceptionally clear, transparent finish that conjures up a refreshing snowy landscape as you listen.

Yohei Kawakami, the vocalist of [Alexandros], has a crystalline voice that matches the song’s transparency, so if a woman were to sing it, I think it could be just as compelling as the original.

The song is in a male key, so even a woman with a lower voice should be able to capture the original atmosphere quite well.

If possible, pay attention to softening your tone in the falsetto parts of the chorus, just like the original singer—doing so should make it sound even better.

Winter is starting.Noriyuki Makihara

[Official] Noriyuki Makihara “Winter Begins” (Music Video) [4th Single] (1991) / Fuyu ga Hajimaru yo
Winter Is Beginning - Noriyuki Makihara

This is the fourth single by Japanese singer Noriyuki Makihara, released on November 10, 1991.

It was also used as the Sapporo Beer “Fuyu Monogatari” (Winter Story) commercial song in 1991 and 2008.

With its lightly bouncy rhythm, it’s a bright winter tune that I think would be really fun to sing at karaoke.

As for Makihara’s vocals, he himself has a gentle voice with a lot of high overtones for a male vocalist, and the song’s key is relatively high for a male track, so it’s one of the best choices for women with lower voices to pick at karaoke.

You can probably sing it in the original key, so definitely give it a try!

LemonKenshi Yonezu

It’s a song with a slightly minor-key, melancholic melody and overall tone that’s incredibly appealing.

The vocal melody is very easy to sing and remember, and even years after its release, it’s easy to see why this track is still loved by so many people in Japan—it’s that well-crafted.

While it doesn’t rely heavily on high tones throughout, it does showcase key high notes at important moments, especially in the chorus.

Men who are good with high notes may find it easy to sing, and I think the key is also comfortable for lower-voiced women.
