Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring high melodies
Many people probably have the impression that “Vocaloid songs have high keys.” In fact, the pitch range you can manipulate with synthetic vocal software is quite wide.
If you own one, you know—you’ve probably tried making it sing at absurdly high pitches, right? In this article, I’ve put together a list of Vocaloid songs with high keys! I think it’s a playlist that can help you choose songs for karaoke or cover videos.
Strictly speaking, in music theory there’s a difference between “a melody that includes high notes” and “a song with a high key,” but I’ve kept things loose here to be more accessible.
By all means, challenge the limits of your own vocal cords!

Push Your Limits! A Collection of High-Key, High-Pitched Vocaloid Melodies (71–80)
Beautiful FictionPinocchioP

PinocchioP, a Vocaloid producer who has inducted numerous works into the hall of fame with his richly varied musical style.
Released on November 20, 2018, “Beautiful na Fiction” draws you in with its delicate synth sounds and dramatic song structure.
Unlike many VOCALOID tracks that push excessively high notes, this one has fewer extreme highs; however, the ad-lib sections in the interlude are pitched higher than the main melody.
If you can’t reach those notes yet, it’s best to start by mastering the melody first.
It’s an emotional pop tune that feels great to sing once you’ve got it down for karaoke.
NoctilucaOrangestar

Orangestar’s “Noctiluca” layers vocals over a solid band sound.
It was released on YouTube and Niconico in 2022.
The melody rises from the B-melody into the chorus, and the overlapping section at the ending showcases striking high notes.
Orangestar’s wife, Natsuse, covered “Noctiluca” on her 2022 mini-album “Light in the Distance,” so be sure to give it a listen!
Traffic jamBoiled Fruits

The shady sonic image and dark worldview are irresistible.
This piece by fruit-themed Vocaloid producer Nirukajitsu was released in 2019.
While it’s built around a four-on-the-floor rhythm, it feels more laid-back than high-energy.
Thanks to the meticulous sound arrangement, it never gets old.
Many women might be able to handle it, but for men it’s highly challenging.
And the melody line, which incorporates hip-hop elements, is tough as well! The timing of your breaths is crucial.

ANTI THE∞HOLiCcosMo@Bousou-P

It’s a song sung by Kagamine Rin and Megurine Luka.
It’s by cosMo@BousouP, also known as the creator of the fast-paced melody hit ‘The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku -DEAD END-,’ and it was released in 2009.
The track features a distinctive sound: a gothic-style, high-BPM electronic tune.
Many people are likely to love this kind of worldview.
The pitch is high throughout virtually all phrases.
However, that’s not all there is to it.
If you listen closely, you’ll notice fine-tuned adjustments in pitch and phrasing.
It’s a work that maximizes the appeal and potential of what Vocaloid can do.
two-second ruleMARUDARUMA
From the intro, the guitars roar at full blast—an incredibly cool and fiery track.
Throughout the song, every corner is drenched in a fierce band sound, and its uptempo, driving melody leaves you with one simple impression: it’s just plain cool.
In contrast, the lyrics are abstract and thought-provoking.
Still, the strongest and clearest message sung in the chorus makes it unmistakably clear what this song is about.
It’s a song you’ll want to sing when you’re feeling down or when your heart is tired.
Acts of vandalism against super-resolutionFrokuro

A track that expresses a dark worldview with an industrial-tinged EDM vibe.
“Super-Resolution Sabotage” is a song released in October 2022 by Vocaloid producer Frokuro, known for clever wordplay.
While the arrangement is relatively simple, the sudden, dynamically moving melodies make it especially memorable.
The song’s highest note is hihiA (A6)—a range that’s challenging even for female singers using head voice.
Regardless of gender, we recommend lowering the key to sing it.
Drink the morningBalloon

Singer-songwriter Keina Suda, who is active as a Vocaloid producer under the name Balloon, created his 24th Vocaloid track, “Asa o Nomu” (“Swallow the Morning”).
It’s a ballad that captures the feelings he had when a cat he’d lived with for many years passed away.
The chorus is sung in a relatively high register, and the phrase right before the instrumental break gradually ascends and is sustained with a long tone.
On his 2016 EP “Marble,” Suda recorded a self-cover of “Asa o Nomu,” so be sure to give it a listen!
