Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring high melodies
Many people probably have the impression that “Vocaloid songs have high keys.” In fact, the pitch range you can manipulate with synthetic vocal software is quite wide.
If you own one, you know—you’ve probably tried making it sing at absurdly high pitches, right? In this article, I’ve put together a list of Vocaloid songs with high keys! I think it’s a playlist that can help you choose songs for karaoke or cover videos.
Strictly speaking, in music theory there’s a difference between “a melody that includes high notes” and “a song with a high key,” but I’ve kept things loose here to be more accessible.
By all means, challenge the limits of your own vocal cords!

Challenge Your Limits! A Collection of High-Key, High-Treble Melodic Vocaloid Songs (51–60)
Donut holeBee

It’s a distinctive piece whose crisp band sound and the various instrumental tones sprinkled throughout the track mesh perfectly, making it endlessly listenable.
Created by Hachi, a legendary figure in the Vocaloid scene, it was released in 2013.
With philosophically resonant lyrics that feel great on the tongue, a bouncy rhythm, and the captivating sound I mentioned earlier, it’s a hugely popular work that has won over many listeners.
The melody line is rather understated, so you might not notice it at first, but when you try singing it, you’ll realize how high the key is.
Still, it’s a masterpiece that makes you want to sing it even if you can’t quite hit the notes.
Unhappy Refrainwowaka

This is a legendary Vocaloid rock track with an incredibly sharp, badass sound.
It’s a song by wowaka, a Vocaloid producer who also performed as the frontman of the band Hitorie, released in 2011.
This is exactly what “stylish” means—relentless song structure, high-speed melodies—it’s electrifying.
And yes, the key is high, and the melody is fast! Among the many Vocaloid songs out there, this one might be particularly difficult to sing.
Make sure to practice well!
last resortAyase

Ayase, the composer for the music duo YOASOBI, which has garnered immense support from Gen Z, is also active as a Vocaloid producer.
Among his songs, the one with the highest key is Last Resort.
It was included on the 2019 album Ghost City Tokyo.
The track features a deep sound with a melancholic atmosphere.
Be sure to pay attention to Hatsune Miku’s languid vocals as she sings of a bittersweet love.
Because the song unfolds with an orthodox melody line, it’s also recommended for beginners to Vocaloid music.
Try singing it with a high, conversational tone in mind.
World's End Dancehallwowaka

It’s a Vocaloid track with an irresistibly stylish, razor-sharp sound.
It’s one of wowaka’s signature songs—he also thrived as the frontman of the rock band Hitorie—and it was released in 2010.
The track has an addictive quality that perfectly fits the phrase “once you hear it, you can’t stop.” The melody line hardly ever drops in pitch and carries straight through to the end.
And because there are many rapid-fire phrases, it’s easy to lose track of where to breathe when singing it at karaoke.
But that’s exactly why it feels so good if you manage to sing it all the way through.

Ungray DaysTsumiki

Vocaloid producer Tsumiki, whose debut work “Tokyo Diver Fake Show” shot straight into the Hall of Fame and drew attention for its stylish musicality, has been making waves.
His seventh track, “Ungray Days,” released on May 16, 2020, features a tight rock ensemble with edgy guitar sounds that really get your energy up.
With its high key and relentless, driving melody, it truly embodies the essence of a Vocaloid number.
While it’s quite challenging for a flesh-and-blood singer to tackle at karaoke, it’s a track that lets you experience the fun of singing Vocaloid songs.
Invisiblekemu

This song is the very essence of “Voca-rock,” combining a hefty, weighty beat, distorted guitars, and energetic synthesizer riffs.
It’s a work by kemu—aka Akita Horie, who plays bass in the rock band PENGUIN RESEARCH—and was released in 2011.
Maybe thanks to its fast-paced structure and rhythmic melody, it’s really satisfying to listen to.
Not only is it high in range, but the sheer number of words makes it pretty tough to sing solo.
If you’re doing it at karaoke, it might be best to split the parts with a friend.
Divine punishmentKashii Moimi

Let me introduce the beautiful ballad song “Tenchu.” This track was released by Vocaloid producer Moimi Kashii.
In the first half, it features gentle vocals set to a piano-centered melody.
The chorus reaches quite high notes, but because the progression is that of a classic ballad, it should be easy to sing even for those unfamiliar with Vocaloid songs.
Do note, however, that there’s a rap section in the latter half and a part at the end with notes even higher than the chorus.
If you can sing this, you’re sure to impress.
