Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring high melodies
Many people probably have the impression that “Vocaloid songs have high keys.” In fact, the pitch range you can manipulate with synthetic vocal software is quite wide.
If you own one, you know—you’ve probably tried making it sing at absurdly high pitches, right? In this article, I’ve put together a list of Vocaloid songs with high keys! I think it’s a playlist that can help you choose songs for karaoke or cover videos.
Strictly speaking, in music theory there’s a difference between “a melody that includes high notes” and “a song with a high key,” but I’ve kept things loose here to be more accessible.
By all means, challenge the limits of your own vocal cords!

Pushing the Limits! A Collection of Vocaloid Songs with High Keys and Soaring High-Melody Vocals (41–50)
Absolutely hostile, super hate ya!Medmia

“Absolute Adversary Mega-Kirai-ya,” a track released in April 2022 by Medomia, a Vocaloid producer born in 2000.
It’s a cool song with a driving drum beat and a catchy chorus melody that sticks in your head after just one listen.
When you try to sing it, you’ll probably find the beginning fairly easy.
However, once the chorus hits, the required vocal range jumps up significantly.
The highest note in the song is hi G (G5), which appears near the end.
It happens in the final sprint, after a key change that raises the key by one more step for the last chorus.
Give it your best shot using falsetto and mixed voice!
Meltryo

I think it’s fair to call it “needless to say.” It’s a masterpiece by ryo—a name anyone who likes Vocaloid has surely heard at least once.
A cool, punchy pop band sound, and lyrics that weave endlessly adorable feelings on top.
It’s truly a wonderful love song.
I highly recommend it even to those who’ve already listened to it many times, and of course, it’s a must-listen for people who aren’t very familiar with Vocaloid as well.
Drunkenness UnknownKanaria

You can’t help but get absorbed in the mid-tempo, shadowy soundscape.
It’s a track by the popular Vocaloid producer Kanaria, who drew attention with the debut song “Hyakki Matsuri,” released in 2022 and included on the album “Kanaria.
code” from the same year.
GUMI’s rolled-tongue vocal delivery fits perfectly with the somewhat retro-feeling sound.
The melody line is rather understated, so it’s easy to miss, but the key is quite high.
If you aim to replicate the song’s world as is by singing without projecting your voice, the karaoke difficulty ends up being quite high.
Lag TrainInabakumori

Rag Train has a mysterious worldview that mixes emptiness with cuteness.
It’s a song that creates a vivid atmosphere of speed—like riding a train—while also evoking the anxiety and loneliness of not knowing where you’re headed.
The track starts abruptly with the chorus.
From the very first phrase, the high note hi D (D5) appears, so you might feel a bit of strain right from the start when you sing it.
The highest note is hi D# (D#5) after the key change.
For women, it might actually be surprisingly easy to sing by using head voice or a whispery tone!
Super Protagonist feat. Hatsune MikuPinocchioP

Currently popular in the Vocaloid community as a seemingly eccentric yet deeply meaningful masterpiece, “Super Protagonist feat.
Hatsune Miku” is a new song by the well-known Vocaloid producer PinocchioP, featuring an ostentatious, flashy melody.
While the vocal line contains no long sustained notes, it involves drastic pitch changes and stays in a consistently high range, making it highly challenging.
Rather than being difficult for hitting high notes per se, it’s the continuous production of high notes that poses the real challenge.
Consider adding it to your repertoire.
Poppin’ Candy☆Fever!Kinoshita

Kinoshita’s “Poppin’ Candy☆Fever!” is a track that makes listeners’ hearts hop with excitement.
The irresistibly cute vocals woven by Otomachi Una and Kagamine Rin will bring a smile to your face just by listening.
The chorus melody is so catchy you’ll find yourself humming along.
Singing it solo will surely boost your energy, and it’s also perfect for getting everyone hyped when you’re together!
DramaturgyEVE

From the guitar phrase that sways left and right in the intro, you’re instantly drawn into the song’s world.
It’s one of the signature tracks by Eve, a popular Vocaloid producer who’s also active as a singer-songwriter, released in 2017 and included on the album Bunka from the same year.
The sound arrangement blends literary lyrics with rhythmic flair, stylishness, and a sense of speed—its charm is undeniable.
It’s a highly addictive number that makes you want to listen on repeat.
The Vocaloid version, not the one sung by Eve himself, is set in a higher key.
It also features a high word count and a melody with challenging dynamics.
