Women Artists (171–180)
nevermindmuque

Muque is a four-piece band from Fukuoka.
Pronounced “Muku,” they’re gaining attention for a refined sound influenced by Western music.
Among muque’s songs, the one I especially recommend is Nevermind.
While this track leans strongly into pop rock, it avoids a loud, heavy tone, instead keeping a light, understated sound throughout.
The vocal lines match that mood—simple and gentle—so you won’t find dramatic leaps in pitch.
Consider adding it to your repertoire.
Not bad.Hanabusa Sekitori

Singer-songwriter Hana Sekitori has gained popularity for her deeply affecting musicality.
Her voice is perfectly described as rounded and warm, and you can always hear the emotion in her slightly lower-range vocals.
Among her songs, the one especially recommended for women with lower voices is “Warukunai” (“Not Bad”).
Reminiscent of Miyuki Nakajima’s style, it features richly resonant mid-to-low phrases throughout every section, from the verse to the chorus.
The vocal line is very simple, making it an easy song to sing as well.
Lush Life!Clammbon

A track from Japanese rock band clammbon’s mini-album “moment e.
p.
3,” released in June 2018.
At first listen, many people might think, “Wait, can you really sing this even with a low voice?” But the vocal melody’s range isn’t very wide, so as long as you adjust the key to suit your own range, it should be quite singable even for women with lower voices—or anyone who struggles with high notes.
The singer’s own delivery has quite a distinctive style, but it’s probably better not to imitate it too closely.
The phrasing and rhythmic feel are also distinctive, and I think these aspects are a big part of what makes the song what it is, so try to listen closely to the original and sing it as faithfully as possible.
Starry NightYuka

This is Yuka’s sixth digital-only single, released in February 2023.
It was selected as the theme song for the TV Asahi drama “Hoshifuru Yoru ni” (“On a Starry Night”).
It’s a beautifully crafted, slow-tempo ballad.
What adds even more depth to the song is Yuka’s singing voice.
Recreating this in karaoke is a particular advantage for women with lower voices.
Be sure to listen closely to her original performance for reference, and showcase the charm of your own voice to your friends.
There are many sections in the chorus that are sung in falsetto, so practice switching registers smoothly.
ChangeAtarashii Gakkou no Leaders

The new song “Change” by Atarashii Gakko! (New School Leaders).
While they’ve traditionally based their style on revival motifs, lately they’ve been incorporating hip-hop effectively.
This track is no exception, featuring their unique hip-hop flavor.
Since rap-style vocals run throughout, you won’t hear the typical high notes found in standard pop songs.
The rap flow is crafted to be easy to deliver, so even lower-voiced women who aren’t confident in rapping should be able to sing it without issue.
Women Artists (181–190)
Peerless BlossomAina the End

Aina the End’s new song “Hana Musou.” Recently, she’s been leaning into a more sentimental vocal style to make the most of her distinctive husky voice, and this track lets you savor that emotion-filled singing.
The vocal range is about average, and since there are no high phrases that require falsetto, the barrier in terms of range is relatively low.
While the vocal line allows for a fairly wide expressive palette, it doesn’t feature many complex techniques like ad-libs or falls, so it shouldn’t feel particularly difficult.
Runiri

iri is a female singer-songwriter whose stylish musicality has earned high praise even from Japan’s R&B aficionados.
Her chic vocals, enriched with deep low tones, are incredibly captivating.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is Run.
It’s a track brimming with a sense of drive, yet it stays within a relatively narrow range centered on the mid-to-low and low registers, making it very easy to sing for women with lower voices.
If you’re a low-voiced singer who wants to try R&B, definitely give it a listen.
