A must-see for low-voiced women! Popular songs that are easy to sing at karaoke

These days, many songs for both women and men are in higher keys, so there are probably many women with lower voices who feel, “I can’t find songs I can sing because my voice is low,” or “I’m looking for lower-key songs for karaoke.” Forcing yourself to sing songs that don’t suit your natural voice can hurt your throat, and it can be stressful when you can’t sing the way you want.

But don’t worry! There are plenty of songs that sound captivating even with a low voice.

In this article, we’ll introduce lots of songs that women with lower ranges can sing comfortably and confidently.

Right now, rapper Litty is rapidly gaining momentum on the female rap scene.

With catchy lyrics and a musical style that modern women can relate to, she’s been attracting growing popularity—and even more attention since the start of 2025.

Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is “Ride or Die.” Its melodic rap leans heavily into the vocal side, and because it’s sung in a low key throughout, it’s the perfect song to bring out the allure of women with deeper voices.

March of the PetalsAimer

Aimer “March of the Petals” Starring: Mirei Sasaki (Hinatazaka46) (5th albums “Sun Dance” and “Penny Rain” released on 2019/04/10)
March of the Petals Aimer

This is Aimer’s 16th single overall, released on January 9, 2019.

It was issued as a triple A-side along with “I beg you” and “Sailing.” Though the arrangement is simple and built around the sound of an acoustic guitar, it becomes a refreshing track that conveys the song’s theme of “spring.” Over that simple sound, you can enjoy Aimer’s slightly boyish, husky vocals—an excellent piece of work.

Since it doesn’t reach very high notes throughout, it’s also recommended as a karaoke pick for women with lower voices.

Be careful not to let it turn into a mumble when you sing—make sure to enunciate the lyrics clearly so they come across to listeners.

On nights when cherry blossoms fallAimyon

Aimyon – On the Night the Cherry Blossoms Fall [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
On nights when cherry blossoms fall, Aimyon

It’s Aimyon’s second digital-only single, released in February 2021.

The melody and tempo flow very gently, so it should be easy for just about anyone to sing.

The only tricky part is the B-melody, where there’s a section that needs to be sung a bit fast.

When you actually sing it, be careful not to rush the rhythm there—stay true to the tempo and groove.

The key isn’t very high, so even women with lower voices should be able to sing it in the original key without any problem.

However, if you do sing in the original key, practice smoothly switching into falsetto in the parts where it appears.

A Midsummer Night's DreamYumi Matsutoya

This is Yumi Matsutoya’s 24th single, released on July 26, 1993.

It was chosen as the theme song for the sequel to the hugely popular drama “Zutto Anata ga Suki Datta,” which caused a sensation at the time with the mama’s-boy character Fuyuhiko—namely, “Dare ni mo Ienai.” Thanks in part to the drama’s popularity, the song became Matsutoya’s second million-selling hit, so many of you have probably heard it.

Despite being such a smash hit, the vocal melody mainly sits in the low to mid range, with no particularly high notes required, making it a highly recommended karaoke choice for women with lower voices.

If you imitate her singing style and really get into character as Matsutoya herself, you’re sure to have a great time singing it.

Until I know loveAimyon

Aimyon – Until I Know Love [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
Aimer until I learn what love is

It’s Aimyon’s 11th major single, released on May 26, 2021.

The song features a melody line designed to make the most of Aimyon’s rich, powerful vocals, and I think it’s a great choice at karaoke for women with lower, fuller voices.

That said, thanks to her vocal timbre it might not seem very high, but there are still some fairly high notes.

In particular, if the high parts of the chorus sound weak, it can ruin the song, so when you actually sing it, experiment to find a key that lets you carry the high notes in chest voice rather than flipping into falsetto.

LONELYMiliyah Kato feat. LANA

Miliyah Kato is a female R&B singer who represents the Heisei era.

Her music, which has supported many women over the years, has now collaborated with a female R&B singer who represents the Reiwa era.

One such track is LONELY, featuring LANA.

Centered on contemporary R&B, the piece has a somewhat downbeat tone.

As it’s R&B, advanced techniques like vocal runs appear, but there are no sections that are un-singable due to low notes.

If you want to belt it out like LANA, try slightly raising the pitch by a quarter note value right at the moment of phonation and deliver the note with strong projection.

Somewhere in a distant town...Miho Nakayama

This is the song “Tooi Machi no Dokokade…” that Miho Nakayama, also known as Miporin, released as a singer in 1995.

The funky rhythm is really cool! Her clear, cool vocals add a great flavor to the track.

Try singing it when you go to karaoke with coworkers.

Your bosses from your dad’s generation will surely be thrilled.

Sing it powerfully and with lots of energy!
